Joan’s story is like mine! If it was not for my Mom’s oncologist telling me to get breast MRI with and without contrast. Well in 2020 the mammogram saw something and they did more images and sent me on my way. Well thank God my semi-annual MRI was due and it picked the TNBC right up and it was stage one, and if I was only getting mammograms I would have had it all over by the next year. If you have dense breast get ultrasounds and/or MRIs and mammograms.
I just got diagnosed with denser breast and was told I have 2 mass and was told through an ultra sound,it was fribrocyst. Then he wanted to do another test. But why do another test,when it shows negative for cancer.
Tt Lola that is so great to hear, I recently had a 3Dmammogram- I have breast density level 3, radiologist saw lesions on both breasts, I have to go in for a breast ultrasound.
That's so sad to hear you are still suffering from this same disease. Am feeling for you right now I know of a doctor who can help you get rid of this. He also help me from this same disease, He can also help cure yours permanently
I'm glad she was (is?) doing well. But I'm confused about this statement: "So all those years after that interview with Dr. Love, I followed up my mammogram with an ultrasound." Why not just skip the mammograms and only get ultrasound? Joan, you said yourself that mammograms are not effective for women who have dense breasts because it's like looking for a snowflake in a blizzard. So why did you allow your breast to get radiated and compressed over and over and over? For no reason? You know there was a study where they found that women at age 50 who had mammograms every single year from the age of 40 had far greater incidence of breast cancer than women (age 50) who had never had a mammogram. So why do them?
