INDIA AS A MEMBER OF QUAD (A Strategic Blunder ) For the first time since Independence, foregoing its “Non aligned approach”, in 2017 during ASEAN summit , India under Modi had entered into a strategic military alliance while signing QUAD. But the fact of the matter is , entering Quad is a strategic blunder for India. India is deemed to become a launching pad for Natos offensive against China. But prior to it, Indias fate will be no different than that of Ukraine which has fallen into Nato's trap. China has termed Quad as Asian Nato. We need to keep mind, India has no maritime issues with China. The bone of contention is only the un-demarcated Mac-Mohan lines in Himalyas. Besides , in South China sea, India has no clash-of-interest with China. While US may have its strategic reasons, Taiwan, sans being the hub of micro chip industry, has no direct relevance for India. Moreover, despite the several joint military exercises under Quad, what has been the end result ? Has it deterred China ? The whole world knows, more than 4100 sq kms of Indian territory has been occupied by China in “sheer retaliation” ? But still, “Vishwaguru” has announced in Parliament, "ना जमीन दूँगा और ना लेने दूँगा".. An open lie before the nation and an act of cowardice ! It can be recalled, on 15 June 20 , Col Babu and his 40 men had died fighting Chinese in Galwan. It was all owing to the Chinese intrusion in Indian territory. However in immediate retaliation to this clash, Indian army had occupied critical heights overseeing Chinese movements in the area. But the political pundits in New Delhi had asked Indian army to immediately vacate and withdraw. It has been said by few army Commanders, an opportunity was thus lost to give Chinese “tit for tat” as there enough tactical advantages. When it comes to “war exposure” and the “will” to fight, undoubtedly Indian army stands far superior. Subsequently , India, possibly in its show of strength, has undertaken heavy mobilization of its forces on Chinese border. However the stalemate continues, with China even resorting to extensive build up of infrastructure in occupied territory. Locals in Ladhak have protested against the on-going Chinese intrusion. But BJP has even dropped its MP Shri JT Namgyal who had supported the protest. He was denied ticket in the last election. So the basic question is , for sake of our own massive loss of territory, if we can’t stand up against China then for whom have we signed QUAD ? Also. Modi as PM had started in 2014 with a very apparent pro US tilt which was bit confounding. Later during "Namaste India" the "tamasha" he did while welcoming Trump, appeared as if India was most close ally of US. But why should we ignore that US had banned Modis entry subsequent to Gujarat riots 2002. So why this U turn by the US ? This needs to be understood. In any case , the conclusion which can be drawn , if we take an overall view of Vishwaguru's "doings" of last ten years on international theatre, he is "shallow" with “no understanding of "foreign affairs & diplomacy”. His agenda of “ethnic-nationalism” under “Hindutava” has evoked sharp criticism in global media, even citing its parity with “Islamic fundamentalism”. His lust for power & pelf, with all sorts of unwarranted extravaganza & theatrics, is well known. In this IT Age when entire world is interconnected, international players know how to expose and extract favours from him. The Hindenburg Report, George Soros comments , Gujarat files, etc, amply establish it and so also the subsequent deals. But the very fact, Rahul as opposition leader , also has recently gone to US, and had been extended a good welcome, we need to watchful. The concern is , in times ahead , Rahul should not be following the footsteps of Modi and get entrapped in US diplomatic plans. India should not become another Ukraine. Jaihind !
