I passed that Crown St vent everyday whilst walking to Uni, never realised the important of it in regards to the birth of railways worldwide. Excellent video and awesome music. 👍

The tunnel should be made accessible to the public. It is a very important part of railway history & a real gem in the development of the Liverpool docks.

Great detective work. It wouldn't take too much to restore.

Great stuff. The two lines that go down to what was Crown St, The up and down Wapping, are just used for running round and access to the Gullet sidings now. Such History there.

Nicely done - I didn't know Wavertree Lane Station used to be just off Picton Rd. Presumably the buildings there now are just part of the the Alstom depot?

Crown street station was not in the location on your map..the station was on the exit tunnel opposite!

We have an 1830 map which we have overlaid on a modern map. You might be thinking of the goods station that was built in the 1880s.

@@liverpoolandmanchesterrailway Yes the goods station it must have been..the tunnel exit confused me ..as the tunnel is a lot closer on the second picture. 1:54 but I now remember the bridge on smith down lane crossing the goods yard in the 60's
