I'm a huge Steve Perry fan, but you have to give Arnel Pineda lots of respect, his voice almost perfectly replicates that of Steve Perry.... that takes talent... and in reality, with rock music having died in the last 10 years, if we have guys like this leading a revival, I'd be all for that....

1981's Journey was fantabulous. Today's is just a shadow or carcass of what it once was. You can't go back, but Arnel does a hell of a job replicating Steves voice. Unfortunately 2024 is no 1981. They say you can't live in the past, but hell no the ones that did did live in the past once. Different people different time different music different styles of values different country, never to return again ever. Glad i lived it like 10's of millions alive then and now.
Steve perry Is has the best voice of all rock music the way he Pronounce all the words are very clean, high .. And Also AP has the pitch and range. SP must be very proud of him .. Thanks to all beautiful music journey♥️ we love you 😘

Steve Perry was and still is the best voice of rock..His power, emotion, intonation and whole presence are unbelievable. I was a voice major in college and wish I’d been given half his gift.
My dear friend Tracey passed passed away in November, totally loves journey. When I go to open music, journey always pops up out of nowhere and I love it because I know it's her. Journey is awesome and now has even more meaning to me... thank you Steve Perry my soul aches for you, and I hold on to believe in that kind of love so desperately... Wow!! No other singer can sing like Steve Perry but Arnell.. he’s SO close and seems so sweet, humble and grateful. I’d love to hear Steve and Armell together one day.
@@mddell58 Actually, for me it's the opposite. Arnel has that tenor voice while still being very powerful and high, and has the rasp that is absent in Steve's voice. In my opinion, similar sounding voices but also very different, if you know what I mean. Steve is very high, Arnel is powerful.

I love Stevel Perry...but Arnel has done a fantastic job with the band. No-one can ever replace the voice and the contribution Steve made to the band...unfortunately he is no longer with the band and i appreciate Arnels talents. I still love Journey and always will! Glad i saw them in Vegas on new years this year!

Steve & Jonathan were always my favorites. My son’s name is Jonathan (of course) & I had the biggest crush on him in the 80’s...he STILL looks pretty good to me😍And Steve? Beautiful with a voice to match...He’s irreplaceable❤️
Love Steve Perry, the original who wrote or co-wrote and sang these hit songs but thanks to the new lead singer for keeping their legacy continue by performing concerts for the fans. Wouldn't it be great if for at least one night Steve joined them for a tv/satellite concert like the Beegee's did. Only one life to live after all!
Steve Perry was and has been the heart and soul of JOURNEY!! He wrote the songs and should just continue on his own. Journey needs him, not the other way around. If you get the chance watch the rock and roll hall of fame ceremonies. Steve will show you what an extreme class act he is. He let everybody go ahead of him and let Arnel Pineda preform with the band when you knew everybody wanted to hear him. There will never be another voice like Steve Perry,s ever again. Steve abandoned his job as a frontman and was ask to came back many time but he acts like a diva making the group guilty with his frequent whining. The company Steve was in employee many people and need to work too. If he is truly a good artist he will tour if he is in good condition otherwise give the opportunity to the person who are week deserving and let other loves. Do not be so greedy. Arnel is also a very good singer and he has proven it so many times. Where is Steve during the 12 year they’ve been touring? Is it not he’s benefiting from Abel too? Collecting royalties? Oct 2019. Arnel is already 53 then. His voice is getting really tired, especially with their grueling tour schedule. He sounded much better when he started with Journey in 2008; he was already 41 then.
OMG! I've been listening to Journey videos and songs, both with Steve and with Arnel and I can tell them apart with my eyes closed. For me, Steve has such a sweet and pure tone to his voice makes me feel uplifted and each word just has so much meaning to them. Arnel has an awesome voice, while he sings the songs perfectly, i'm less drawn into the meaning of the words, more drawn into the memory of the songs. Had I never heard Steve sing the song, I would think that Arnel was incredibly talented and awesome but since this is comparing one to the other, I have to go with Steve all the way. I wish I would have been able to see Journey in concert when Steve was lead singer, but I'm grateful that Journey has found an awesome front man to keep their hit songs alive and keep Journey touring around the world. I still hope to see Steve on stage with Journey again, that would be awesome.

Lol, most people comparing like Steve Perry is the best. His range is not that great and many people can sing his songs. Arnel is considered vocal chameleon because he can sing songs from Aerosmith, Bon Jovi,Scorpion, and other great rock bands. He can imitate their voices too when some audience want to. What about Steve Perry? He is only good singing his songs. That's it for Perry? Btw, he has ruined his voice too by just singing those notes (after he left journey he never sing that high)? Really? Among the best?

My uncle (RIP) was a huge fan of Journey. He was reluctant to accept Arnel at first until I sat him down and played Don't Stop Believin' with his vocals. My uncle replayed that song twice and smiled. 'Hes not Steve, hes Arnel and he slays!'

Agreed! Perry is a God and will forever be the "voice" of Journey but Arnel is amazing and is keeping the legend alive! For ths we should ALL be thankful. Not to mention that he has amazing vocal chops!
Perry is Perry, Arnell is Arnell and both are incredible! They are both very different but so talented! Great singers are hard to duplicate exactly but that's how God made us all, no two are the same! Journey lives on because of Arnell. Love Journey and Steve too wherever you are now.

I seen them in concert .. it was the best concert I had ever seen. Steve was the voice!!!! Guess we had Steve in 70,80, and you guys get Arnel in the 2000. lol This was my fav band!! Terrific Talent all the way !!!
