Hi everyone! I hope you enjoy this quick but classic solo, and who doesn't have this melody ingrained in their head already? Next video is going to be something fun (not a lesson), and then after that we step it up with a solo from Nuno Bettencourt that's sure to be a rewarding challenge. 😎🎸Also, don't forget about the guitar giveaway I announced last week! You still have time to get in on that!

Crazy how much time and how many videos go by before RU-vid finally recommends one of your videos . None the less I’m happy to finally find your channel and will continue to watch listen and learn ! You sir are truly a master of rock guitar and there’s really no reason to look for other recordings if you have it in your playlists !

I agree with you - Neil is an awesome lead guitar player! I also like how he uses EVH amps & cabs on his tour ;-)

One of my first albums, but I got Frontiers first. Fantastic stuff and what Schon can really do on the guitar is way more than what's on the records. He's a beast.

The last Journey -- and only Cain era -- album I liked. It is a great album, with Neal really at the top of his game, shredding like a madman, yet also playing melodic solos that were compositions within the song itself. Stone in Love, Dead or Alive, Still They Ride, Don't Stop Believin' -- great playing, great tone -- and added bonus was Perry's voice wasn't worn out yet. "Frontiers" didn't have the same caliber of songs, the production was 'flat' and lifeless, Neal's playing on the Rolie-era albums is essential listening as well. Arguably one of the very best. Watch Neal on the "Stars" session (Ronnie James Dio) -- he essentially seized the day, I think even more so than Malmsteen and Lynch, and that is saying something.

Great in-depth comment. Another solo from Escape that always makes rewind is Mother Father... the fast pentatonic licks are on fire :)

What would trip me out, listening to it, was Steve Smith's beat that sounds something like a Samba beat that's been slowed down and with a simple but kinda unexpected order.

The hardest part in this song is that fast simple repeating pattern in the intro. For some reason my hands and brain refuse to co-operate whenever I attempt it😅

WHAT FREAKING ESP IS THAT??
@PDXguitarfreak
@PDXguitarfreak 9 месяцев назад
It's an ESP USA M-III. They actually produced a decent number of this exact spec'd guitar, a few years ago. Sweetwater was selling them, for example. I found one earlier this year that never sold (from a smaller dealer), and jumped on it :)
