If you have time please visit shoranur to nilambur railway station. It is one of the most beautiful railway lines in Kerala especially during the monsoon season. You can enjoy old icf with diesel locomotives.
I remember there used to be a wash basin inside the First AC coupe back in 1985/86. There used to be a lid on the top. When the lid was put down it acted as a table. That was a good strategy. Passengers could have washed their hands inside the coupe itself and once done just close the lid and convert that into the a table.
I really miss Salem too much. I used to travel in Kovai Express. I was a student in Vinayaka Mission's Kirupananda Variyar Engineering College. Yaadein taaza ho gayi😌😌😌😌
It reminds of barats of children of bureaucrats. Where VIPs sat in 1st class & lesser mortals in 2nd ac. In those 3rd acwere not there. Barat were welcomed at all stations by relatives & friends of girl's family, fresh food & beverages were brought by them. All expenses were paid by girls family. Girls mama & brother acted as Butlers for baratis. This was very prevalent in Rajastan & UP belt.

ICF first AC looks royal mainly because during the 90s and early 2000s only the filthy rich and elite class could afford it and not the common man. Very few people have used it and hence the seats and everything looks and feels premium.
I don't know why it feels that first ac and second ac of old icf coaches give more sense of royal n vintage as compared to new lhb. 3ac, CC, SL of lhb is superb. Fortunately i got the chance to travel in first ac of Varanasi New Delhi (via Lucknow) KV express. That time train was not yet lhbfied back in 2018.
We were in Coimbatore for around 5 yrs , my father was in Indian Air force . It's a very lovely place.. By behaviour people are very good. We have travelled. Experience was good.👍🇮🇳

What I was missing in this journey was Digital representation of Coach No. on platform for journey between Chennai and Trivandrum. Still it is not upgraded ?
