Really enjoyed this. I have fond memories of the Panorama route having first visited in 1972 on a family holiday in my parent's caravan. We lived in Rhodesia back then. In 1989 I was a young backpacker and while on holiday from the UK, I caught a night train to Nelspruit (can't do it anymore) and then attempted to get a bus to Graskop. While on the bus I was told I could get off and, for the same fare, go in a car. The reason? Two white soldiers were using the bus and the black passengers objected. So seeing as I was the only other white on the bus they invited me to get in the car. We got to Graskop far faster then the bus and then waited at the edge of town where the road heads north. They hid their guns in a ditch so as to not put off any drivers and waited. As soldiers they were not allowed to hitch, but got around this by standing there trying to make eye contact! It was effectively hitching without putting your thumb up. Soon we jumped in a pickup and I got dropped off just before Bourke's Luck Potholes. They had got out at an army dog training camp a bit earlier. I then set off walking and trying to hitch. Back then in March 1989 the road was quiet and there were few cars. I walked for ages and then some Belgians picked me up and I got to the resort you stayed at. It's always been a pricey resort, has a nice pool of course and it has fabulous trails and hikes. I was last there in 2018 (this time in a cottage - a far cry from being there in a tent). As for how you missed the other viewpoint then I don't know. It's chargeable as you knew but gives great views. Your views in the resort were comparable anyway and you were blessed with stunning weather. Check out other peoples videos and you'll see how lucky you were. The other viewpoint is just visible at 09:40. You can make out the buildings at the extreme right.
