@@TheAirynDolce it was a pretty big deal: two Olympics in a row which I don’t believe was mentioned in this video. It’s why she is remembered by many as a fumbler in terms of relay races. But yes, it was a long time ago! I don’t think it’s wrong to acknowledge the truth of the situation but also she doesn’t deserve hate (which didn’t happen here).
Sanya Richards-Ross (10.97/22.09) over Allyson Felix (10.89/21.69): 😳 Allyson Felix who has been on multiple 4x100m Olympic & World Championship team and is part of the world-record team as well as the team responsible for the second-fastest time ever run. Allyson is one of the greatest relay runners of all-time in both the 4x100m & 4x400m. I don’t understand that choice at all.
like no shade to SRR, but Lauryn's rationale doesn't make sense. Allyson is the greatest 2nd leg runner of all time, on both relays. I feel like a lot of her contemporaries don't give her credit, and I wholeheartedly think it was because they were envious of her longevity, consistency and the media attention she was getting. She was the darling of American T&F, and they didn't like that.
@@micaiah3669 no sense whatsoever! Yes to everything you just said. People try to make jokes about all of her relay medals when the reality is she was completely instrumental in every race she ran, the reason many times (particularly in the 4x400m), the u.s. won gold. She was chosen for that team because they knew with her on the second leg, it was most likely they were going to win.
