Journey to the Land’s End (the Full Documentary) - a mountain backpacking trek in Matitome Québec to the very end of the International Appalachian Trail.
In Sep 2020, my wife Tori and I traveled to Québec’s Gaspé region In search of adventure. After poling the Bonaventure River and fly casting for Atlantic Salmon, we headed to Forillion National Park where we picked up the Appalachian Trail. Our plan was to follow it through the mountains to the Land’s End which is the very tip of the Gaspé Peninsula. This was a multi-day backpacking trek, a thorough hike to cross the National Park. Land's End is also the very end, (or the very beginning) of the International Appalachian Trail which starts in the state of Georgia. Moose, Black Bear, Seals, and Whales are all common sightings from the trail which also provides a multitude of oceanic views.

I loved the natural views and sceneries. Yet, what I like the most is your loving partner friendship, fun together, Jim’s silly jokes, and concerns for one another. All of these aspects of your journey is what make your adventures great!!!

Love watching your adventures while rowing on my rowing machine, and while on the stationary bike. One down fall is the 30-minute commercials every five minutes. Other than that, your adventures are fantastic, I look forward to spring, when I can get my canoe out and do some paddling. Wish you continued success.

Hi love this adventure. Who am I to suggest something camping related, however here goes. Leaving your stove behind was a bummer, I often think you folks should check out Firebox Stove channel. I am not in any way affiliated with him, nor a relative. I just find his stove the greatest idea. You may have already heard of this little invention but if not you may want to check it out. He cooks gourmet meals with just a few twigs. No fuel to carry and it packs up to nothing. No saw, no axe, on this type of hike. Maybe with your epic canoe journeys, which I am currently watching, you would want a big fire to dry things out, but this little stove just makes so much sense to me. Anyway again who am I, a 76 year old woman who cannot do more than 6k now, had my day but thoroughly enjoying you and your families adventures. Love your adventures.

Oh my goodness, Jim, you are tracing a moose and you don't have a powerful gum on your shoulder! Remember Jimmy, wounded or healthy those moose will circle around to your back and charge! My grandfather was an avid moose hunter with years of experience behind him. One day hunting in Hudson Bay he became aware that he was the hunted, along with my uncle and 1 other companion..... a moose came up from behind, took out my grandfather's friend and my 7ncle and grandfather both got off a shot before this giant moose buck dropped at their feet. It weighed in at 4300 lbs and took 2 days to cut up and out if the Bush. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away before fulfilling his dream to take me and my brother up north to hunt our own moose. Moose, still my favorite North American mamal alive to this day..... and I still remember the moose steaks we had when grandpa got back.... I was 5 years old and have neve had a better steak than what my grand dad cooked up..... oh my I am 43 now.... disappointment has settled in now.... naaaaaa not really, I just miss me grandpa.... what a beast he was but.l9v8ng and caring of his kin.....

Yet another awesome video Also, I would like to pass on a great tip in making cowboy coffee Spinning your arm like a windmill is nothing more than a parlor trick. Let Isaac Newton step in, after removing your brew from the heat source, just let it sit for a minute or so. Your grounds have a greater specific gravity than the coffee, so the settle to the bottom. When you pour to your mug, it will be groundless Thanks for sharing your trip Thanks man, Jeffrey

@JimBairdAdventurer
@JimBairdAdventurer Год назад
Otters? Lol these are massive grey seals in the ocean. What do you mean “killing off the dog”? My dog had a cancerous limp in his chest that was likely what caused him to slow down and the discomfort he felt on the Killarney trek when we had to bail on the trip. He lived for some time after that until he died from complications of surgery due to his cancer which I spent over 10k on. It was very emotionally challenging to loose him. So, you’re comments are pretty annoying.

All these years I thought the Appalachian trail went through 14 states from Springer Mountain, Georgia, & ended in Mount Katahdin, Maine. 2,190 miles, or 3,452 kilometers. It actually ends in Canada at Lands End. Going through 2 Countries? Am I right? Thank you for taking me on this beautiful hike. You shivering, was hilareous! Finding the place to hoist your food from bears when you were leaving was funny, then the cabin, I'd done the same. Never knew what Moose antler shedding was, nor have I ever seen Rosehips. I loved seeing Tori join with you in your adventures. I hope her knee is better by now. Loved the lighthouse, the view they had was awesome. Do you dehydrate your own food? I also found something for the pesky evil bugs. Permethrin, insect repellant, (yellow spray bottle). It also comes in a cream (tube) I found via Slim Potatoehead. He said he couldn't buy this in Canada. REI sells it, along with a few other places. The cream, maybe it would be something to help the neighborhood. Looking forward to more of your adventures.

Yes, the Maritime provinces don’t include Québec as Québec as a whole is not costal in the same kind of way. Maritime means of relating to, or bordering on the sea. So, this part of Québec (Gaspé) is very much that and borders with New Brunswick. It also shares much of the same architecture and culture that Canada’s Maritime provinces have. Thank you Jim for mentioning the unfair treatment of the indigenous people of the area. Who do we think we are to remove people from any area because we want to repurpose it for our own use. Forgive us Lord for our pride that causes so much pain to others in so many ways. All people are guilty of it at some point. It truly is a flawed human desire to oppress others and climb to the top of the heap.

I did the Appalachian Trial from Georgia to Maine, 2,200 miles, and wanted to keep going into Canada, but those weirdo's wouldn't let me in their stupid country for some reason, although I love Canada and the Canadian people, I can't stand my own government or their government either, that's for sure..
