It is impressive but he's also 7 inches shorter so has to do less work for certain events and lifts due to a lower range of motion

Seems like the organisers are really monopolising the sport to keep it down for political purposes. There is nowhere to watch it even though it could be watched live by tens of millions of people if they just make a decent streaming platform. These guys deserve to be millionnaires for winning these kinds of events. We need a better organisation, competition. I saw last years competition on some facebook page months after the fact.

I would argue that Brian Shaw is VERY VERY technical - but that Martins is slightly better at inventing for the events (as I heard Martins describe a way he came up with to train for the Wheel of Pain for example, it was clear he is a better strategist than even Brian Shaw is)

it actually depends on how people define strenght... is it to be able to lift insanely heavy stuff while standing still? or be able to move slightly lighter (albeit still insanely heavy for the average people) stuff from point A to point B... also, we can't discredit martins as he actually beat shaw on squat, deadlift hold, and stones, which are your conventional "strength" events

It took Martins just 4 year's to win the WSM that's outstanding! and he made the finals every year he's competed not many other Guy's can say that he has a huge future I hope he sticks with Strongman he can go on to win multiple titles.
