Yes, I totally agree! Journey are back and still rocking - I love it! I discovered Journey in 2013, when I bought the "Greatest Hits" Album, after I heard a Journey song on Radio. This was my start being a Journey fan - and I still am. 😘 🎶🎵🎸
Just received my autographed copies this week. Congratulations to Neal, Jonathan, Arnel, Deen, Narada, and Randy. The album is incredible! Exactly what this jaded world needs, songs of emotion, longing, passion, and meaning! Journey is firing on all cylinders!! Power to this multi-decade vehicle for tremendous music. Again, the haters are proved wrong.
Great Album. first listen to and I really think this is one of their best, to bad other 70's or 80's bands can come up with an album this good, new music from journey, how lucky are we to have this.
I'm happy to see one of my favorite bands from my generation still performing. Arnel great voice is allowing that "Journey" distinctive sound to continue on👍. When Journeys music plays there is no mistaking them for anyone else.
This song (and album) requires multiple listens... It'll grow on you. Yes, Arnel is not Steve Perry, but Steve Perry has aged far beyond being able to hit these notes. Arnel is singing his way and he sounds just fine. Thankful Journey has carried on in a world where AOR has diminished.
SP is also 30 yrs older. Of course his voice has changed. He is still brilliant even at his age. Arnel is very good. Different voice and talent than Steve.
Зачем сравнивать несравнимые.. Перри маое отработал и как певец , и как антагонист.. И эгоист тоже.. Хотя они все эгоисты.. Словом , тут многое надо понимать еще с первого раскола в 1978 году..
Loving it,,, bought the Freedom CD, can't wait to play it. Beautiful song, Arnel n the rest of the band, you did it again just like the Revelation a decade ago 👏👏👏❤
Love this song- awesome sound, great tempo, and lyrics!-! No doubt that this song can be heard a lot at many festivities, celebrations, and shows! Neil's guitar work is sensational-and Arnel Pineda's tenor perfect pitch voice is amazing!! Bravo!
Arnel has nothing to prove to anyone. His talent is through the roof. Haters just hate; bashers remain the same but my fan heart is so happy. Love Arnel and Journey!
@@KOSMICKEN09 True, age matters a lot. AP is 54 years old but he looks like 20 years younger with his looks and energetic ways onConcerts.(If SP is 73 years old, therefore SP is 19 years older than AP then!)
Perfectly said. Arnel sounds every bit as good as Perry in the 90’s. He captures the spectrum of Journey emotion/soul over the decades of the band. I’m VERY thankful for Arnel. He was instrumental in “bringing the Magic back” to Journey 🙏🙏🙏
As usual...Jonathan Cain comes up with a keyboard phrase...keeps it simple....and builds the song around Arnel's Voice....Neal Schon's guitar parts are rather subdued and he really knows how play in his band....just enough from him to know he's there. .the best part of the song is when Arnel goes high in his range to give you that "Steve Perry" vocal push that Journey is known for....I guess a listen to their new album should be required reading at this point....so many iterations this band has been through and still pretty much hits the mark for melodic vocal arrangements with good rock edge mixing thanks to the experience of Neal Schon and Jonathon Cain, which have anchored the melodic prowess of Journey practically forever!
Though the album is inconsistent, THIS is easily the best song Journey has released since "Girl can't help It". Remix, remaster, make a radio-length edit, & push this one HARD!
Journey is my favorite band of all time and I will be forever grateful that Arnel Pineda brought these guys back from the brink in 07, even though no one can EVER replace Steve Perry, Arnel has done better than anyone could ever imagine. All that being said, in the few attempts to create new music since Arnel join in 07 nothing has really souded right. The old stuff always has been, and always will be great, but let me tell you something, even though Arnel Pineda has been the lead singer of Journey for 15 years, THIS IS HIS COMING OUT PARTY! They allowed Arnel to be Arnel and not a Steve Perry clone, and it shows! Best pure rock album in years! If you haven’t heard it your missing out! #10 on the track list (Holdin On) is probably the best pure rock song I've heard in 25 years. Taking me back to the 80's Baby!
Those who are familiar with Arnel even before Journey knows how versatile Arnel's voice is. Even Neal believes he's a chameleon. His critics, more like haters and bashers, keep on questioning his vocal tonality. Arnel has that natural predisposition that is evident when he sings and he can do almost anything he wants with his voice. Sorry, but Arnel is still the lead vocals of the band.
The sun is on its way Acting like it's some new day Your curtains hang the same But the shade's pulled down I know that they did you wrong Made it clear you don't belong But the world's much bigger now than one small town So pack three shirts That old guitar Your moonstruck poetry And use that angel voice To say you'll come with me Come with me Together we run (Don't give up or you'll lose the fight) Straight to the city lights Together we run (Hold on to this with all your might) Our lives begin tonight Whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa, whoa Together we run, yeah New York dreamers Together we run We'll make some dreams come true You know how I believe in you Leave doubt and fear behind A place to start again You rehearsed this role with all your lines You have what it takes to get it right Step out into the light You never dreamed of giving up You've made your mark There's so much more I'm knocking at your door Imagine all you've done You're more than good enough Together we run (Don't give up or you'll lose the fight) On to the city lights Together we run (Hold on to this with all your might) Our lives should begin tonight Whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa, whoa Together we run, yeah Straight to the city lights Together we run Don't give up or you'll lose the fight Hold on to this with all your might Whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa, whoa Together we run You've made your mark There's so much more I'm knocking at your door Imagine all you've done Don't give up or you'll lose the fight Hold on to this with all your might Whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa, whoa Together we run Don't give up or you'll lose the fight Hold on to this with all your might Whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa, whoa Together we run Don't give up Whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa, whoa Together we run Don't give up Whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, whoa, whoa Together we run
Just took a couple of listings of the tune and the only bad comment I have is about the ending it just sounds like the entire track is still in a pro tool session waiting to be finish the ending is just too abrupt it should just say way into the original piano theme of the song. Otherwise the track is strongest track that I've heard all the new ones by far! The Anthem like choruses are as any Journey song has ever been! And Arnel really sounds like he's just being himself and not trying to be a Steve Perry clone yet he still fits in perfectly to the journey sound because he's still naturally sounds similar to Perry. Aside from the ending this song is one of their best. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album
Today i walk in a store, i see a new section thay put records in it and my first hand crap was this, i like the names from the songs but anyway good beat good sounds good story.
