If Trump or anyone else does something wrong with their taxes then that’s the IRS’s problem to look into. They audit him annually as they do most billionaires so I am assuming they don’t have any issues. If the concern is that the billionaires pay an effective tax rate comparable or less than I do then that’s a misleading statement. First because that is the law today (they are allowed to deduct losses) so if they want to change it they should talk to their senator. And second, misleading because an effective tax rate of 20% for someone that makes 100K per year is $20K in taxes paid. An effective tax rate of 10% for someone that made 1 billion dollars in profits last year equates to $100 million dollars in taxes paid!! Remember folks: the top 1% in this country pays 43% of all taxes paid!!! Don’t let them fool you. Not trying to protect the ultra rich here. I’m only trying to think independently and reasonably.
