Marvelous song! My husband and I were landing in New York when this song started playing in the plane. Both of us taped a bit in our phones, just to make sure to find it later. We were not sitting together and laugh later at our doing the same without knowing. As a previous commenter has written, this is a masterpiece.

England's still the second land for soul music. Cannot forget bands in the 80's like Working Week, The Style Council, and Sade. Some might compare to Amy Winhouse, one thing I'm sure about is that you've got it, you and this band got the Soul !

One time I was late for my test prep class and decided to ditch it to watch a random vampire movie, can't remember the name of it. It was incredibly underwhelming, but this song started playing during one of the scenes and was in shock with how good it was. I held onto the lyrics just to be able to google it when the movie was over and spent the entire way home listening to this on repeat, feeling so happy that I could die. . This song was my little treasure for the remainder of the year, there was not a single day where I would play it at least once

Especially given how much has happened and changed since then. I was 29 in the summer of 2016 and very recently turned 36 - my 20s felt like an entire lifetime and I thought they'd never end, whereas my 30s have shot by like an Aston Martin and I expect my 40s and beyond to shoot by like a fighter jet. Time moves quicker when you're older. I want that time back.

Her voice is fantastic. Serious depth and power. She has hints of Billie Holiday, Marlena Shaw, early Diana Ross, and she even has the swagger and control of Shirley Bassey - but Joy seems to elect to keep it more restrained and project s voice that is truly her own. Wow. What a talent..
