let me tell you; the video from audrey’s birth mom when audrey started crying into her what would be step dad’s chest my friend and i SOBBED. the raw emotion given from the actors was so incredible.
The birth mom stole the scene. She didn't need to do much but having her leaving a heartfelt message and having playful exchanges with Dae Kim in just one scene isn't an easy task but the actress made for performance feel real than hokey.
I remember when you released this video and I actually decided to watch the trailer lol. Edit:Just saw the movie today and again, twice, with my sister, and holy shit. This movie is so funny and emotional! I LOVE the main leads! They all had such amazing chemistry with each other. The raunchess of it all! Ugh, I fucking love the themes and the jokes
Unfortunately i can't add much to ur vid since I haven't seen Joy Ride but just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos and found you recently so keep it up :]
The mv scene was intentionally cringy and that makes it funny. It wasn't supposed to be like how some movies take themselves too seriously and that ends up coming across cringy. For example, all the popular dialogues from Riverdale, "highs and lows of high school football," "I'm a weirdo." This movie is too good and I hate that more people didn't talk about it. But great video, I completely agree with all your takes. From the writing to the actors' chemistry, all of it was phenomenal. The emotions were all packed into the third act and I didn't see it coming but I still loved it
Watched this film and thoroughly enjoy it. I'm not the biggest fan of raunchy comedies--does Bridesmaid even count? But it was SO GOOD and what an absolute thrill it was to see Asian leads in this genre.
I don’t understand people who couldn’t handle the comedy and seriousness of the movie. People complained about whiplash. I had not problem. And that critic wannabe - objectification? Try being a woman in Hollywood. That is one of the pillars of Hollywood…. He would have to hate pretty much 70% of all movies if objectification is an issue.
