I don't care for this... it seems like she takes each note and shakes and strangles it before she lets it go... it's missing that easy, long-lined, flowing legato.

I partly disagree. I don't think vibrato is the one that helps the voice, but it's true that a natural vibrato is normal and "healthy" but you don't have to kind of force it, it comes naturally. This is just my opinion. By the way I love Joyce.

Peter you are right - vibrato is what makes the voices distinct and individual. No one wants to listen to a voice without vibrato. On broadway musicals are generally always sung by voices with lots of quick vibrato.

Really? It just sounds like healthy vibrato on a classically trained singer to me. And this song should be sung classically.

She’s a mess . I wish she would just do old lady roles in musical theatre ..she would better there . Her forays into opera are overacted undersung bleaty and anything but “gold”. The voice is very goaty. It’s a small goatlike boyish Cherubini sounds a most. Her PR is embarrassing.
