She played basketball, soccer, and volleyball in HS, Also had a 5.0 GPA and enrolled in University of South Carolina's Honors School!

it's odd that the ESPN proclaimed #1 Sarah Strong was nowhere to be found in post awards of all these all-star games. Joyce has been the MVP for every game & is the real #1 for 2024 class despite the bias that ESPN spins towards Uconn.

I watched the last 3 games live on RU-vid. Edwards provided much needed leadership. I did think that she already have 1 year at USC though. Heckel was impressive.

Nope. She was playing with her high school team this past fall/winter and just graduated high school this spring . Tac graduated early and come on to Carolina this past winter.

Congratulations to these young women, go USA! I did check the box score and didn't see Toby I know she is playing for team Canada at the Olympics and is still 18, are there rules that a player can't compete in both? Toby looks like another really solid box office young player that causes serious excitement. She's going to Duke next year and I hope she continues to keep bringing eyes to her brand and to women's sports

My guess is that Toby is too old. Allie ziebell is only 18, but she was too old because she was born in 2005. There is a specific date you have to be born after to be eligible for this. I am surprised savvy swords didn’t play. She definitely would have been better than some of the other players on team Canada.

Not only does USC get Heckel and Smith, they are also getting several other highly ranked recruits this year. Along with their transfer portal additions, they are going to be a major problem for teams. South Carolina needs to watch out for them.

USC has too many mouths to feed. They will lose someone from this class next summer imo. But it will be worth it if they win the national title. And they could. I think they are the second best team on paper.

Q what do you think of espn dropping Joyce to #3 in overall standings?? Wasn’t Sarah Strong this same team along with the young lady that skipped over Joyce in the rankings?!? Not that these rankings matter especially since they are done by just one outlet but It looks fairly evident that JE is not the #3 in country. Thoughts...?

For all you Sarah Strong hater, she has been limited with a knee injury for the pass 3 months. I'm glad her minutes was limited. I want her healthy for the college season. Edwards played well. Congrats to her.

All the players must have been recovery from injuries, because she was averaging the 2nd most minutes per game before they played Canada. People like you always spitting out comments before checking if it make sense.

@@go2hvn2008 Uconn fans are in their feelings . Before the Canadian game Strong was averaging the 2nd most minutes playing per game.But since the USA coach played and stuck with her best and most athletic lineup to match up against quick athletic Canadian team,they're saying Sarah was hurt and on restricted minutes per game. Those uconn fans are hilarious.

I don’t believe strong was on a minutes restriction. I don’t think she would have gone if she still had issues. The coach was just trying to find the right mix. Team USA won on talent. This team had some flaws. Lack of point guard options. Another shooter could have helped too.
