How did you like it?
@Zeal808
@Zeal808 3 года назад
@@briancherry8088 it’s great! Some effects sound bigger in parallel and some stronger with lever going from A to B. The octave is awesome, it tracks polyphonic and sounds incredible with delay and reverb. Also! You can use the pedal to fatten a signal by turning down the depth/mix knob you get a clean stereo signal. I play my 70’s strat and it sounds awesome, I haven’t moved it around the pedal chain much but I’m happy with my purchase. I got it for my bday last year on an Amazon gift card

Thank you for this video, you guys mentioned things about this pedal that are not discussed in others. I've been looking into getting one of this, but I've seen videos in which from a clean tone or with a little over drive, after activating the pedal the volume drops quite noticeably. Did you experience anything like this? Would there be any way of preventing it other than with a boost pedal?
@PJandtheBeard
@PJandtheBeard Месяц назад
Honestly I don’t remember. Often modulation pedals will have a perceived volume drop just from the nature of the effect. Some are more obvious than others and they will often have a level knob to combat that. I remember this pedal being good if you are new to modulation and just want to explore. If you’re gigging with it you might want something a bit more polished. I picked up a used line 6 m5 not too long ago and it went straight to my board as a Swiss Army knife pedal. Reasonable price and sounds great. I see them pop up for around $80 on reverb often. I picked it up after watching Trey from Phish’s rig rundown where he has one on the front and end of his board.

For years I've played stereo live for small, (and getting smaller), gigs. Most of the great stereo sound is lost, when the band gets loud. I use a Pannelo pedal, to ping pong between the two amps for my tremolo sounds and I use a $25 mono delay pedal on one amp, to create a slapback. These two pedals help widen the sound. I have stereo multi fxs like the Vision but even at jams, no one waits for you to reset to a different sound. I use two stereo Echo Machines which each have many of the Vision sounds but not the Auto Wah, and I think I'll like it. It might even sound good while using my Fender Fuzz Wah. I also have a vintage stereo Morely PAN/Volume pedal. I think your playing and demo sold me my first Joyo pedal!

@PJandtheBeard
@PJandtheBeard 2 года назад
I follow. It’s the presets and banks thing you are asking about. This pedal does not do that. Basically there is two sides and each can be set up differently and you can select between them or both at once. You can also change the signal change order in the pedal but no presets.

Hey! I heard rumours that this pedal changes the volume level with the different effects. Is this true?
@PJandtheBeard
@PJandtheBeard 2 года назад
I don’t remember that being the case but rule it out. We don’t have this pedal anymore to check. I know people often perceive a volume drop because of the nature of modulation.

Important question; Is it just me or is there a DB drop when the pedal is engaged???
@PJandtheBeard
@PJandtheBeard 3 месяца назад
It is been a long time since we had this pedal, but I wouldn't be surprised if you hear one. Especially on some of the modulation effects like tremolo. Often they have a perceived volume drop even if there isn't one because of the nature of the effect.

What about the volume and latency issues I have read some people comment on. Is that a real thing?
@PJandtheBeard
@PJandtheBeard 2 года назад
Didn't really notice a volume thing, beyond the typical perceived volume loss that comes with many modulation types. The latency thing, maybe a bit, although that word didn't pop to mind at the time. That feeling might have been what lead to our recommendations in the end. It's a great pedal for someone who isn't familiar with many of the modulation types and wants to try them out at a great price point. It wouldn't be our recommendation for someone who wants a good specific mod for their live pedalboard.

@@PJandtheBeardthanks for the response, sofor a poor scrub playing in his mancave he labels a studio and who pretends he's a rock star 'touring' the subway busking once in a while, you'd totally give it your PJ and the Beard thumbs up?
@PJandtheBeard
@PJandtheBeard 2 года назад
@@relativeparadox9567 I hate recommending things because when people don't like them it is our fault. If you are worried about the latency thing it might not be the right one. The Wampler Terraform is a great pedal for the subway busker or stadium stage and it sounds great on every mod setting we have tried. There is quite a price difference though. For what it's worth, we definitely had fun playing around with the Vision.

It may be a good starting place if someone has never used modulation and is not sure what they may like or needs a few modulations types but doesn't use them that often.

PJ and the Beard You are correct. You mentioned that in the video. I wasn’t in the video so I opted to leave a comment. I thought a viewer might appreciate another user experience since your critique did not mention any negative aspects of the pedal. Ya see, I watched all the videos I could search and was disappointed when I got the pedal because no one mentioned the short comings. I don’t know if that was because they got a good deal or the pedal was given to them. I only tried Joyo because of a JHS Pedals video on them. Josh didn’t demo the Vision but he did like other Joyo pedals.

We definitely appreciate you leaving your experience in the comments! Especially since you probably dived into it deeper than we did. We did think it was a good pedal for the circumstances we indicated.
