rolling stones hit it on the NOSE when they said "Joyride is the sound of an innovator trying to fit in", rca forced her to change the tracklist so many times and removed all the more soulful songs that Tinashe actually wanted.

The title track Joyride was actually gonna be for Rihanna’s anti album but Tinashe bought it back from her. They were both working with Travis Scott around that time who contributed to the production.

With this album, she had a few versions of it ready to go, but RCA had her narrowe it down to the album that was released just to have something to put out there after years of fighting and so right after this was released, she fought to get released from the label and went independent, doing what she wants to do and now she’s flourishing

This is not my favorite album of hers as well but I must say that ‘ooh la la’ and ‘no contest’ are flawless R&B songs that shine on their own. ‘Faded love’ was lyrically not my favorite song but that mysterious and dark production is amazing! I love ‘stuck with me’ as well. I’m glad you reviewed this album cause it’s not bad at all to me…

Tinashe mentioned that there were 3 different versions of Joyride over 200+ songs. If you look up Joyride Leaks on youtube you can hear the differences from all the leaked songs how a lot was altered from Joyride album initially. Hence why a lot of songs seemed out of place on it. Only 3 songs from this release were listed as part of the orginal 2016 Joyride tracklist from Fire and Flames, No Contest, Joyride.
