hope you enjoy my new record, when i found that old reggae drum loop i knew i had to make something with it. i had it in about 4 track ideas until it finally settled here.. i love how it came out and hope you feel it. x

What I love about this video is that it showcases cars in a way that only a proper petrolhead could manage. I don't know if that's the case with JOYRYDE, but it's immaculately done regardless. It's not the prototypical "insert European premium marque" coupe with a half-nude woman sprawled across it. The attention to detail (the yank of the handbrake from the S13 on corner entry, the hood flex from the E30...) is fantastic! This is definitely my favorite song/music video combinations.

So, I've been listening to this nonstop and 2 days ago I had a dream about this tune. I rarely have dreams! So I had this dream JOYRYDE was being interviewed and the girl asks him, "so hotdrum is taking over the house scene We are wondering though, where does the the name JOYRYDE come from?" *His video clips are playing in the back* Everyone starts laughing. 5th listen in a row and the hairs are still standing up on the back of my neck! Love what I think is the "Red Alert" sample in there and one of the best music videos I've seen in years although I am bias towards Mad Skidz! :D I'm now going to spend the rest of the evening sampling more of what JOYRYDE has to offer :)

Dude, your sound in general is very specific, like... I could easily indentify a JOYRYDE song. One would think it'd get tiresome or repetitive but you keep finding new ways to keep it fresh. Great job on this track and I look forward to your future releases. BTW, those drums really are FIRE
