Thanks JP! Great playing on an amazing guitar! Thanks for keeping that wonderful tune alive on the 12 string and Doc’s creative playing! We are all sorry to lose Gordon. Your a wonderful musician brother and many blessings this Christmas to you and yours! Jon Cooley, Asheville, NC
JP - you are a genius! You even IMPROVED upon the Doc Watson song with your funny musical joke and incredible fast triplet flourish! BRAVO my friend!!!
Wow, what an awesome story and what an awesome guitar. Hope I get to play one someday. Seriously thinking about taking the plunge with the PS-SG-162 right now. Fairly big chunk of change for me but your review is what did it.
Phenomenal! You were playing this rag at 11 is unreal! Even hearing you play it now is like a visual and sonic illusion, a whole rag band in one guitar!
I have purchased many of your CDs and enjoy them all. "The Long River" is one of the best tribute albums I've ever heard. You did an amazing job of bringing out the heart of his music while putting your own touch to the songs. "The Poet" is a fantastic nod of respect to the man. That 12 sounds sooo nice..
Well J.P. don't feel bad I keep wanting to buy more guitars !!! I have loved Gordon since the late 60's ! I keep forgetting to shut the door to my office when you play cause all of my guitars want to jump off the wall and run out the door !!!! I guess they are jealous hearing how they should sound !!!
Such a beautiful guitar - and great playing. I'm very envious that you Americans have so many great guitar makers there. Very hard to get them over here in Australia - though there are more and more Martins available, and I love Martins.
Gordon Lightfoot was one of the square dancers on Gordie Tapp's "Country Hoedown". Who knew what a incredible talent was waiting to blossom! Love listening to you play Mr. Cormier. One of my favorites is this performance back in 2010 w/Tim Edey accompanying you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v8W59k3UPEQ.html Fantastic!
All right, JP. I am a convert to Boucher but my hang up for my next purchase is this: Torrefied? Not torrefied? What’s your take on that process? Worth it? Not?
Hey JP! Wondering if you have any recommendations for capos for 12 strings? I have a hard time getting all 12 strings clamped down properly with my current capo! Specifically the small course
This multi-tracking and picking completely prevents me from evaluating the sound of this guitar. If you actually want us to share with you the experience of this guitar, Sir, please play a solo piece that involved both strumming and sophisticated plucking.
