Hi, you just need to show your pass to the bus driver, you don't need to scan the pass. Remember, you can only take the JR bus, and not the local city bus with this pass. If you enter the bus from the center door, just show it to the driver when you exit from the front.

Reserved Seat up to 2 times only, not unlimited. 3. West JR Bus in Kyoto City Only 4. It don’t cover the Kishi area where the Cat station is. 5. It don’t cover the themed train along the Kyoto Tango Railway and other local rail lines cover by the Kansai Wide Area Pass. 6. It's more cater to visitors visiting Osaka and Kyoto cities and major attractions route, like Kobe, Himeji and Nara. 7. It comes with Kyoto City Subway, Keihan Railway, or Hankyu Railway 1-Day Pass.
