He really is. I enjoyed this podcast because it was a little lighter and good-hearted. I could only take so many heavy conversations about all the shit going on in the world.
Justin didn't really say much And it makes ye like him more. He seems more excited about Trevors gloves than his own title win. Not one bit arrogant or self absorbed Class act They are a team

Jeff Rock I understand what you are trying to say, I 100% believe most top performers have that streak of unusualness about them. I would not use the word AUtism even on kids who might have it, I believe labelling doesn’t help them.
Trevor Wittman is such a bro coach, making fun of Gaethje's speach pattern the whole show. Just nice to see such good chemistry between coach and fighter.
I knew he was good, but after that second round of the Gaethje vs Tony fight when Gaethje started getting sloppy and throwing power shots and Tony dropped him Trevor told him to take 10% of his shots and work on the set up because Tony's feet are too good, that's when I realised this mf'er is phenomenal.
It was super interesting when he started to talk about the gears. He made those who are responsible for providing the gears in the UFC look like clowns which they are honestly

He wouldn't shut up. It was like a 90 minute infomercial. Out of the total 166 minutes, Trevor spoke for about 110. I like the guy but god damn, stfu...Gaethje is in the house.
@@Dezemi Yeah... info on gloves I'm NEVER going to buy. He's right about the infomercial part. And why do you think he is excited as a kid on christmas? His product just got an infomercial on the world's most popular podcast! His gloves will make him rich!
Imagine if he does get his stuff into the UFC and he said he wants it in all organizations he would've literally have changed the sport that's such an incredible thing to be able to say
Trevor Wittmann Quotes from the Show: 1. "I pull back a lot on him (Gaethje) and that's the key to peaking. A lot of times, people just push hard, push hard, push hard and that's another huge issue in the sport, is overtraining." (7:59) 2. "You have to be intelligent to be the best fighter in the world you've got to be the best defensive fighter. Don't change who you are naturally but you have to understand defense and defense starts with position. Always starts with position. You have to know position, you have to win every position." (28:30) 3. "The best fighters in the world can always match a good match. But it's the first one that makes a mistake is the one who loses. That's where momentum is so important in sports. Momentum is everything...find one mistake and you build on that mistake...now you start to capitalize...once you got someone make a mistake after mistake after mistake, that's when you crumble on them." (35:10) 4. "If you stay in control of yourself that's the key to everything in this world" (36:53) 5. "If you listen to anything else on the outside and you start to adapt to other things, you're never going to live the way you want to live. And to be a fighter you have to be in control of yourself all the time." (36:55) 6. "The best fighters are the best actors. The ones that can trick yourself. Fake it till you make it. Till you get to the championship. And you have to live that way, you have to obsess never being broken and even if you break, accept it and then on to the next. Don't deal with it." "Some of the nicest guys are the ones that perform the best. The ones that are going to help a lady cross a street. They fight for something." (37/;08) 7. "You have to have your goals set in place and once you start to break those rules you're really not grabbing the wheel, you're letting it coast, and that's where you start to spiral downhill or go off track." (50:12) 8. "My psychology is tricking people to win. Is how do you get out there and do it and making them to believe you have to force your head into something to make something happen." "I am there to help you with your responses. In the gym, I'm going to create your reactions, I'm going to create your patterns, your basic fundamental patterns that are going to help you win positions, and slightly win rounds where you're controlling the fight. The other piece is how I'm slowly creating momentum to get finishes." (53:51) 9. "If you cannot control your thought, you cannot control your breathing" (58:34) 10. "Long-distance runners have that mindset where they can just go. It doesn't matter...if you grapple for an hour, you've got to be able to stay consistent, you think better, you become smarter...you have to pace yourself." Now that's what I call being good to the Fans. Since the Ferguson fight I daydreamed about a JRE episode with not just Gaethje but his coach, too. A serious treat.
@Weghweh Hwewehwhe he sold out when he started being a platform for politicians. Still a good show. Watch legion of skanks or real ass podcast if u want untamed comedy
Selling out to the fans would be making his platform exclusive and charging monthly just for him. He’s going to Spotify, which is free with ads just like RU-vid. RU-vid is censoring everything, it seems like you’re mad because you’re uninformed.
@@hamaadhussain7665 round 1 was even Justin landed hard leg kicks in round 1 but khabib took him down. round 2 Justin landed one heavy leg kick which khabib felt but used it like a champ to take Justin down which was clever and only khabib could do also he timed it when Justin was close to the cage and choked him one of the best submissions ever what a legend one of the best 3 fighters ever best lightweight and pound for pound number1. Now khabibs retired will be interesting now will miss khabib but you gotta love geathje.
@bulletsNbeers geatche is 💯 in support of this product... I'm sure He cares too and has direct use of this. It's nice to see the back and forth support of these two.
Wittman knew what we was doing bringing this all there lol free advertisement( I’m assuming), and got Rogan to promote it fo freeeee lol so dope... I guess you could say he worked and angle 😂😂
Its his nose. He talks about it at the beginning of the podcast. Its why he talks funny like hes does to. I have the same problem with my nose its fucked
What James said. He’s planning on surgery to correct it which will also increase his gas tank. I bet as soon as the khabib fight if they don’t book him against tony immediately, he’ll have it done.

Absolutely brilliant dude. ive spent the majority of the podcast wishing i could work w the guy a bit. apparently everything is UnIqUe, but an extremely smart dude regardless 😂
These two are a perfect match, Trevor is such a technical, smart, even genius level coach with a lifetime of fighting knowledge, and Justin is the perfect sponge for that, a body and spirit that has been building since he was 4. Basically the perfect recipient for such knowledge. I love these two.
Ya know, I agree, but I feel that Gaethje's attitude might hold him back with Trevor. You can see in this pod a few times where Gaethje wanted to present him self more cavalier going against best practices or Trevors advice, i.e. the cup thing. Trevor mentions his stance is to help his athletes do what they want, and that is why after suggesting the cup and Gaethje going against it they just moved on... this could come back to bite him in the ass when an athlete of his does lose a nut, even worse he loses that nut training inside Trevors gym....
He's actually an entertaining and inspiring person. If he could somehow beat Ferguson, Khabib and then Conor, he will be one of the biggest sports stars on the planet.
He's tryna be humble, but Trevor Wittman absolutely deserves trainer of the year. His fighters are so fluid in the striking department its beautiful to watch. "Astral traveling" is how Joe described it when Rose landed that big left on Joanna. Those fighters effortlessly glide in and out of range, with absolutely perfect timing. It almost looks like they're throwing counters before their opponent is even done throwing the shot that's being countered. Conor is really the only one who can rival his top guys (and girls) in terms of timing on the feet. And I don't know if Conor's timing is a product of his coaches or just a product of his own insane reaction time. Trevor Wittman is the best of the best. Give him ALL the awards.
Dude great point, I had no idea he was rose coach as well. Makes so much sense now. Like they were saying, these smaller weight guys are out techniquing people now
@@arandompersonlol1202 you're absolutely right my guy, my pal from uni started boxing at the beginning of the school year, I wished I had followed him to his gym and trained with him, I have no idea why I did not
I love how Trevor’s fighters immediately start trying to ground themselves even after title wins. Successful athletes have a long track record of losing their minds by letting their egos run wild. He seems to always remind them how close they are to losing everything.
@@nickp3989 i disagree. i think khabibs grappling is fun to watch. but yeah i think everyone knew gaethje didn’t stand a chance. i really wanted him to win though.
@boris Odor ive been watching since bonnor and forest. Not a casual just enjoy a actual fight! Khabib is a pussy and refuses to move up to a division filled with elite wrestlers. Of course he retired in 155, all of them are knockout artists. Notice the only wrestler in that division khabib backed out of the fight? Looool casual
@@nickp3989What you don't enjoy might be something someone else enjoys , What do you enjoy ? Actual fight? wdym by that ? i'll guess it's stand up ( striking & boxing ) then stick to watching boxing or better a street fight outside a bar . This is mixed martial arts ( every discipline has it's place in this rule set ) . Calling a fighter a pussy after he has clearly showed his dominance by using a ceratin style which he feels is the best suited for him makes you a casual . Your just salty af , stay MALD !!
@@aryantamrakar7643 maybe Oliver has good knowledge and a good opinion and calling people out that you don't even know makes you look like a shit person. My only tip is for you to get back on track with the human race.
Aryan Tamrakar dude stfu like your so cool for call people out for no reason grow tf up just because you can’t do something doesn’t mean he can’t you don’t even know bruh
"It's the punches you aren't braced for/don't see coming that hurt you/knock you out." Exactly my experience with fighting/being KO'd. The two times I've been really hurt/went to sleep I wasn't braced for/did'n't see coming.
This was truly a great podcast for the mma community. The discussion over the gear and the materials was actually incredibly interesting. I was entirely ignorant to this issue over the gear for mma.
28:00 Trevors IQ is marvelous. I understood everything he was saying, Justin was so front heavy against Johnson, Alvarez, and Porier. He still swings those wild hooks but he’s not there to be countered and hit anymore because his shoulders are level now. This Justin is scary.

I swear man, these two are one hell of a dream team! The way Trevor checked Gaethje in the tony fight was amazing. I will never doubt anyone who has Trevor in their corner, and especially if Gaethje is in the cage!
BeardedDudeFromSpace for me it was the opposite. Justin is surprisingly grounded. He’s always seemed chill, but even after his thorough beat down of the uncrowned king at 55. Same shit different day to him. That’s dope.
