A full review of this song. I didn't know much about drill before I heard this remix of the classic Gotye song. But I immediately fell in love with the beat. While I was at first put off by the clean vocals in the intro, I quickly learned to accept them as an integral part of the songs' atmosphere. It is setting the tone for one of the hardest first verses in recent memory. Jrilla absolutely eats the beat from start to finish. The flow is immaculate. The samples and harmonies are just icing on the cake for what may be the best rap song of 2021. The lyrics aren't overly complex but they stick to the theme of the beat perfectly. A brilliant homage to one of the strongest bangers of 2012. There is a sweet sense of irony throughout the track. 10/10 would repeat the first verse another 6 times.
