@@TheBestUsername The rope bridge event doesn’t need to be across a creek/river. In fact, we try to limit the number of times cadets build it with bodies of water involved as much as possible because that tends to be one of the main causes of injuries. You can’t have a Raider competition without the rope bridge, so a vast majority of schools simply build the course on dirt, which is perfectly fine.
my team is in the 6th and we went to the national challenge in kentucky and they had us do the swiss seat separately because of how high up we would be and we were allowed to have 3 people on the rope max so that might just be a 4th thing @@martinmadrazo6189

I remember perfecting this after weeks of practice we finally went to a competition. Our rope was so slack by the time the second or third person hit the line everyone's backs were on the ground.
I have a bunch of questions 😂 You guys cross super easily, what kind of clips do you use, or is it a special rope? When constructing near side, what technique do you use for the transport tightening system? When your nearside wraps around the pole i notice he does a special hand position before tying the knot, how does he do that? And if you have any other tips feel free to share!
We use clips with at least 1.1 inch opening gate. We used aluminum at the time of this video, but we switch to steel to increase longevity. Rope is kernmantle/static rope low stretch. nearside is a figure eight on a bite. Not sure what you are asking about hand position.
Small knot was interesting, the way my team does it is after release small knot comes up through mid and grabs the rope from the people, I got switched to it and I keep fucking dropping that wade of rope before I get to the pole
