JS Inflator has a "band split" switch now. And oversampling, which the Sonnox Inflator never has. GUI still needs improvement. But really nice free alternative.
Oxford Inflator is a superior UX/UI: - Smart Defaults - Sliders in sequential format (left to right) - Tooltips - Dialing in settings Now imagine using the plugin with many instances, how frustrating that can get quickly for a User if dials are wack? Users will simply stop using software that is frustrating to use. No, Edge Case users don't count.
@@shamshirsound I agree, that ease of use is important. Believe me, I have sessions with high track counts and I, too, like to get results quickly. Anyways let me give you my list priorities when judging the overall worth of a plugin: 1) Sound 2) Price 3) CPU efficiency 4) Ease of use 5) General look of GUI 1) The sound is identical - you would have realized that if you would have done a NULL test Instead you went with your confirmation bias and decided that the Sonnox 'just sounds better' 2) No competition here 3) I can have more instances on my machine with the free plugin 4 & 5) Well, the Sonnox is better looking, no doubt about that.
Honestly, I didnt notice any difference. I thought you were a bit hard on the freebie, who cares about double click? Thanks for the shout out, I'll be downloading, free is good.
the plug-in has a split button now and you can double click and input values on the sliders. I've never used the OG inflator, but i think the clone might have earned a spot on my 2 buss.
Oohh pretty close. Thanks for the comparison. Not bad for free. I can also hear that the imaging gets a little narrower with the free one. Tweaks here and there needed. But pretty cool.
@@shamshirsound the JS version only works in Reaper. i believe this one is made by the same person but the JS version he had help from others on the development. there is another one made for just for FL by this guy Frank Pole. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kg5q80pNjg4.html
@@shamshirsound i see that he updated this Inflator. it now has the band split and oversampling like the other versions. so it's basically the same as the JS/Repear version now.
