Very helpful examples, Peter however, it would be very useful to know the page numbers as I've just bought the Advanced Book, and it looks a bit daunting - thanks
Hi Andrew, I will include the page numbers in the future videos - thank you for the heads up. Yes, studying material from this book and other method books present students with some challenges - that is a good thing, as we want to get better. Few tips here helped me overcome that "daunting" feeling 1. controlling the amount - ONE page a day/ONE line a day - 2. Giving yourself a credit for following suggested fingerings and positions even if does not sound fluent first - 3. Using metronome - 40 bpm to 60 bpm = fretboard knowledge/articulation/sonic clarity/ rhythmic accuracy 4. AWARENESS - A) each style of music presents different sigh-reading challenges B) It takes a very long time to get better at it and sustain it , work on it regularly in your warm-up sessions I am just describing my personal experience here, I hope some of it turns out to be useful to others, as well. The video is hopefully presenting what to expect from this piece of literature. Thank you again. P
