Whether you like it or not the old man is brilliant and cannot be intimidated, he is principled.

This is the best interview I have seen. His reasoning capacity is sharp. Malema tried to corner him but he wouldn't budge. What a wise man.

Never get tired of watching this gentleman. I hope he is still practicing law.

After all he must have gone through during his time as a magistrate, no wonder he was able to deal with the questions with such dignity and intelligence. When a man has his principles at the forefront of his judgement, he is immovable. I wish we had a judge like this man in my country Zimbabwe.

My brother nailed this interview, and I am yet to see any better interview than this, each time I watch it, it feels anew. He demonstrated great level of competence as he actually live it in real sense.

I think the approach he took was "When I was in Rome, I did as Romans do" however one cannot take away the critical intellectual style of Juju's questionnaire and how he setups narrow minded and highly emotional politicians on debate platforms, the point Malema is coming from is how the post 94 youth should imply and apply their minds in current debates along the future of this country, however he should have admitted the system was a no good system, I think when he said "what I should have done" he was just hiding behind the thumb. The system needed to be challenged indeed, however Tokota was focusing or prioritizing on his articles and qualification rather than engaging and confronting the most harmful system ever imposed in our country. So for me a combination of thumbs up and down for both Juju & Tokota.

I understand what exactly Malema meant when he says all this questions. Remember the Judges who handled Marikana Report where saying things like Muthi and so on. He again likes the judge.

I like Adv Tokota's confidence. Yes, he did not do well in some questions from Commissioner Malema. However the last two questions were well attended to very well.

The commisioners came to listen to Adv Tokota here..the guy is good..Im glad he got the job.

I think apartheid question was one that I think got to him, he could have have said that the system was bad but he did his best to be fair,especially when his most centered argument is that the law is based on facts. Otherwise he stood his ground against one of the toughest questioner of the JSC

Solid, Principled and experienced Judge! He made minced meat of Malema who seems overly scarred with hurts and pain from the apartheid era. I'm West African, not South African, but I think that people like Malema keep reopening wounds that are healing pretty well, howbeit slowly. The problems of racism and tribalism will not go away overnight or ever, but its now time for more people of colour to push on to a point of immense relevance. We live in a world where the stronger race/specie dominates. Yes, we (blacks) have been treated badly, but instead of belabouring the historical atrocities of weak minded racists, lets look forward to new black man who is looking beyond the songs of his history and driving fearlessly to conquer and dominate his world, respecting the rights and dignity of others as human beings. #jashammond #panafrican #forwardthinkingafrican

I don't believe in judgements that place 0 weight on the South African history in this context, there's a reason to consider race, but the question would be how much weight should be placed on such consideration. The Constitution its self acknowledges Historical injustices and seek to achieve transformation, why would a judge not consider race at all? Mr. Malema was asking good questions on this one. Apartheid law practioners applied the law rigidly and seldom applied their minds placing more reliance on legal rules and outcomes that such rules prescribe.

This advocate is superb, made malemo something.
