I just assembled the JT slab roller. The instructions were very simple, well-illustrated and clear. I have limited space in my garage, and the roller fits well on my work table. I will put the roller through its paces today if it warms up a little bit. Ordering after emailing Jim Troutman was very easy. Shipping and delivery were fast.
Let's start at the beginning: 1. Great communication from the Ebay seller. 2. While shipping may seem high, 50 bucks from Fla to NC is very reasonable considering the excellent packaging, weight and speed. 3. Very well built piece. All the parts and pieces are very well machined and work smoothly. Assembly is simple. It's sturdy and stable. Easy to adjust thicknesses (although some thickness markings on the height adjusters would be nice. I plan on adding these myself. but this surely isn't a deal killer). 4. The $400 price tag is great for a roller of this quality. 5. If you're a small to midsize pottery shop, this is absolutely perfect. 6. I highly recommend it!
