Great to hear! It’s definitely a nice way to get some exercise in. I didn’t realize it would take that many pumps to fill from empty but I can’t imagine I’ll ever have to fill it from empty again unless replacing o rings etc.
I’m glad you got a good laugh out of it! Now I’ve learned a lot since, I don’t let it drop below 2k psi and it takes about 70 pumps to get back to 3k psi. What pcp rifles do you have?
I'm at the stage of looking and I'm on two rifles....JTS Airacuda and Benjamin cayden .22. Still deciding and also my first buy....hope you still happy with the JTS.... Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Hell yeah! I kinda hate this video now cuz I learned so much since 😂😂 moral of the story is mine won’t fill if it’s cold because the pump seals leak but I just warm them up and it fills easy
You are correct, I read that in the manual! I’m a bit embarrassed by this video cuz I had no clue what I was doing and didn’t realize it would take like 400 pumps to fill it from empty 😂😂😂
So you have to have the charging handle in the rearward position? I have my rifle being delivered as I type this. I have down loaded the instructions but the instruction don’t define cocked.
Thats a fantastic first PCP, great gun, great caliber.....congrats. Ive been doing the PCP thing for about 14 years now, the Mantis 3-9x32 is pretty hard to beat for 76 bucks on Amazon, it would really make that rifle streamline.
@@bmoorear thanks I absolutely love it! I especially love that I can shoot it way more conveniently compared to my firearms. Thanks for the rec as well on the scope, I’m very specific when it comes to what I want in a scope and this one I got fits the bill perfectly for me. I’m not a fan of the parallax adjustment around the lens, or second focal plane.. which I’m guessing the mantis is because there’s no mention of FFP/SFP in the description
@@VitalArms Yes the Mantis is an AO scope. I just use my airguns in the backyard for shooting groups and ratting at night so an AO scope is fine for me but I get it, I would never have an AO scope on my predator calling rifles. Love the channel dude, I'm a SoCal, 22 mag shooting, Baofeng radio using dude too. Hahahaha. 22 mag will THUMP jack rabbits out to 130.
Get a GSX compressor, even if you have to borrow the money. You’ll never regret it. I’ve got that rifle, it’s my squirrel rifle shoots great. I have a tactacam solo extreme on a Hawke scope. Love it.
I looked at the origin for a while, and I almost bought it. But then, someone said checkout the JTS Airacuda Max, and I did. Oh man, I fell in love with that Airacuda! It shoots like a dream. My only complaint is that it weighs 8 pounds, and with my scope, it's 9 pounds.
You and me both! I had the origin in my shopping cart and credit card info added, then I discovered the Airacuda. Still happy about my choice but damn it’s heavy! My scopes almost 2 pounds 😂
I'm looking for a 25 cal pcp with around 50+ foot pounds at the muzzle for under $800, mostly for hunting turkey at 80 yards max range. any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm considering Airforce condor, but dont care for the look of it. like the look of this more but its less powerful. but more affordable.
I spent about a year trying to decide if I wanted my first pcp in .22 or .25. Im glad I went with the .25. There definitely is much more pellet options with .22 but I think it’s less important due to the fact you really only need to find a couple options that shoot good through your gun. I’ve seen a guy on RU-vid take 2 coyotes with a .25 at I think 45 fpe so a headshot on a Turkey would absolutely be a dead Turkey. Goodluck in your decision. The look of the Airacuda standard definitely played a big part in my decision because I love the stock but I will tell you it is quite heavy to carry around in the field especially with the scope I added is nearly 2 pounds extra. I think I won’t be buying any new air guns until I can save up for a really high end one next like the fx impact just to have both sides of the spectrum. Thanks for watching!
Great advice thanks, yeah I realized quickly that the whole “70-100” pumps to fill is in reference to not going below 2k 😂😂😂 it’s fun being new at something. I’m so used to firearms and I love this new adventure of pcp air guns. Do you have any tips on maintenance? O rings, barrel cleaning etc.. should I be running a bore snake or patches?
@@VitalArms o-rings will easily break it they become too dry overtime! But some O-ring lube ( which is safe on o rings without deterioration)... and it'll make them last longer...
@@VitalArmsget a JL Crown Saver pull thru cleaning system and Balistol cleaner for the barrel as it won't hurt the seals. 25 cal patches from Walmart or Amazon. Never ever use a metal cleaning rod as it can and will damage the barrel crown then your rifle is useless. Learned this years ago from Nate at The Airgun Channel here on RU-vid. Fantastic rifle you have purchased and you will enjoy for years to come. Like you I do like a nice wood stock. Looking forward to seeing some groups from this setup. Happy shooting!😊
I got the same gun it great for the short time i have had it the finish on the stock is not the best but nothing a little linseed oil can’t fix the gun is very accurate enjoy iam waiting for the 30 cal
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 this video gives a really bad impression overall. I need to do a follow up on how inadequate of a beginner I was trying to figure the whole pcp thing out. Consider subscribing and I’ll put one together. But that’s awesome those are great rifles. What model HW do you have?
@@VitalArms Guess RU-vid took my comment down? They a very good at doing that for airgun related content. It always pays to check back later. Ps, I might have some HW content that might interest you on my channel.
I specifically didn’t want this to be a regulated rifle so I got exactly what I was looking for 👍🏽 after the initial fill from empty I actually enjoy the work it takes to pump but I will get a compressor at some point. Thanks.
Wow that thing is nice, shoulda got the Max if your looking for more power, pretty sure you can tune that thing to be a beast, i tuned my gauntlet 1 to shoot slugs at 920fps 34.9grain nsa slugs, opened up transfer ports, installed hammer spring adjuster, new reg set at 2400psi output and im hitting targets out at 300yrds these rifles are very close in power to actual .22 lrs when power tuned. I actually use my pcp more than the 22, a lot funner imo when you can hear the smack from hitting your target.
I hear ya, but I specially noted in the video that I’m not a fan of the stock on the max. I hate anything thumbhole. And it’s just a fun shooter for me, I don’t plan to modify it or anything. Just stock shooting does it for me.
I have the max version of the airacuda and every single day I shoot it and I can hit a 2 inch target at 130 yards and at 100 I can plink 1 inch targets
Depends if you want it to be regulated, the standard is unregulated but I think the stock looks way better so that was my deciding factor haha. I also believe the max has a bigger volume of air. The manual doesn’t say anywhere what the actual volume is but I’m very happy with my 25 standard.
Can a regular tire pump air compressor be used? Just curious because I'm looking to buy one. But I don't want to use a hand pump, i get enough exercise at work.
@@SmokyRow to be honest idk specifically their height, they came in the box with the scope. The description they provide says (30mm High Profile Scope Rings). Here’s the amazon link to it if you want to check it out further. I’m not affiliated in anyway.. a.co/d/2GAge9o
@@SmokyRow after a while I finally realized the seals don’t do well if it’s cold. So now I heat them up. But I also just recently got a compressor and it’s way better 😂
