Thank you for posting. Nothing wrong with what you did if you got the result you wanted and I love it. Here in the UK we are limited (unless firearms certificated) to sub 12ft/lb air rifles. I bought a .22 Airacuda Max with great all over wood grain. I used steel wool for hours to get a tiger stripe look to the stock. 12 coats of Danish oil over a month, then a light Tru-Oil and wipe off for a tiger stripe satin finish. The cheek riser was pink so I sanded it back, spray painted primer red then spray painted it satin black, fitted an ivory plastic plate between the wood and butt rubber end and it looks Awesome. I loved the accuracy so much I bought a .177 Airacuda Max with low and poor wood grain. A gentle going over with steel wool and teak oil repeated 6 times over a month, finished with a full Tru-oil coat. The result looks like a walnut stocked 1970's over and under shotgun. (the cheek riser looked pink too so that got the satin black treatment). This is not exactly my ideal look for a modern air rifle! But at the local range both looks are a massive hit, nobody said they dislikes either finish.

❤❤❤. Airgun Sunday!! I refinished a couple Sheridan stocks some years back. Went all out. Sand sand sand. Steel wool wool wool. Slury stained and slury linseed finish. Then probably a dozen hand rubbed coats. Finished one matte and one glossy. They came out great. Both walnut but neither figured but as you say the linseed pulled tons of character outta that wood!!! Looking awesome as final look!! ❤❤l

I plan to seal mine with raw tung oil, inside and out... the hot humid south is not to kind on wood stocks. Need to seal it all to keep the humidity at bay. Your stock turned out awesome!

Looks good.👍 I love boiled Linseen oil, it’s cheap, durable, and you can’t touch it up anytime. Careful with the spent rags though 🔥🔥 For blotchy unfinished wood we used to use a 2 part wood bleach so the wood would stain evenly ( if you ever do a new stock or fine woodwork.) 👍

I appreciate the stock sealing video and I can see that I put, like I usually do with spices, too much on when you clearly have emphasized properly, that "a little dAirBNB Hosts: I'll produce a 3D virtual tour for you do you. My mistake as usual. I used a Q-tip and I soaked the tip in the boiled linseed oil and then rub that all over but before it was too late I realize the error of my ways and used a microfiber towel to wipe off all of the excess. And I'm letting it dry for three days just to be safe when I put the second coat on I will be very modest just like you do. "A little dab will do ya'"

I did my Benjamin Air Rifle with Linseed Oil back in the 70's, haven't used it since. I was just a kid but it turned out O.K. if I recall. Looks like yours is going to turn out really nice!!

Nice video, I’m about to buy the airacuda standard. I kind of like the dry factory look but yours came out really nice. I’m curious, what happened to your right index finger?

What's the advantage of linseed oil over tung oil? I've got the Max version of this rifle and I'm new to this sort of thing. Thanks!
@sixshootertexan
@sixshootertexan 10 месяцев назад
👍🤠🇺🇲 Never researched tung oil. Boiled linseed oil is what's on most old military firearms. Easy touch up, and you can make dull or glossy.

Watch my video on the mods I did. I don't know of any parts being sold for the Airacuda.
