I have viewed many MANY artist demonstrations and tutorials. I have yet to see one done properly. We must be able to see the model that the artist is using from the artist's point of view ! From his chair, Mr. Bastos should take a photo of his still life set- up to show us exactly what he is seeing. Then, either show us the photo so that we can take a screen shot of it, or have the photo somewhere on the screen at all times. ________ What type/ brand of paper is being used?
Suggestion well taken. It was the first time that I have done this type of demonstration using my iPad, during COVID times. One does see the still life particularly at the beginning of my talk, from the distance. I hope the many tips I tried to share will help you working with pastels in the future. The first part of my lesson dealt with many stories, the materials that I use, samples of my other works, like my portraits, and other suggestions. Was any of the other subjects I talked about useful?
