The Prague audience was very, very lucky. I count myself fortunate to have heard Florez in opera and concert, and cannot think of a tenor of any type who can move an audience as he does. Long may he continue to thrill people.
agreeing with fabiantenor , when I saw the Everest arias he sang as encores, I was like, holy if I can sing properly without losing stamina one of those encores, I would be happy already~! Florez is godly.
Damn, if he sang this, Parmi veder, La donna e mobile, Ah mes amis and the Cessa di piu resistere cabaletta as encores, I wonder what the heck he sang in the actual recital....
Something wrong with the acoustics, too much echo. But what surprised me is that Juan Diego did not finish on the high note - totally uncharacteristic for the King of the High C's.
well that would mean he would have to do a high D. There not endless high Ds in a tenors life id say. I think what they could have done was take it down 2 steps and have the last note a high B. This tessitura becomes less about the lyrics and more so about the tenor singing high.
