Jamel, the ladders are a reference for a "social climber", we call them in Spanish "trepadoras o escaladoras sociales= climber or Social climbers" or "caza fortunas (fortune hunter)=gold diggers" as well
Clarissa I was hoping someone could ask him to react to it. Now I'm going to see If he has done that!! (I just found this channel Jamel_AKA_Jamal today.) I have been missing out Jamel is fun, honest and cool to watch his raw reaction.
I love this song. It's probably my favorite of his because it's just basically " I could have given you the best love, the love that you deserve and you left me for materiels."
This song brings me back to my 4 ir 5 yr old me back in my Rancho. There used to be a bar at the cross roads and they would blast this song. We didn't have running water and would have to go to the river passing this bar. Life was simple but beautiful!

Please review the Juan Gabriel song "No Tengo Dinero". It was first hit and is astounding. You would love it. Also please read Juanga's history. He had a background of immense suffering as a child and young adult. He was also framed and served time in a Mexican prison for a crime he did not commit. His history explains a lot about his music. He wrote some of his songs while in jail, kept them in his head for years. I love watching your channel!
You made me laugh so much with your reactions to Juan Gabriel and a Luis Miguel. I loved it. You just found in me a new fan/subscriber. Keep it up with your channel.
Finally nice to meet someone who appreciates music in all forms got hooked on your channel with the zz top reactions if you want to see a similar band watch CLUTCH , electric worry , quick death in Texas and the mob goes wild great band with a big cult following. Keep up the good work.
Loving your content man! You seem to genuinely love music in general even though you came from a primarily hiphop background in terms of taste. Its cool to see that the same stuff that got me so into my favorite artists are felt by people from other backgrounds and experiences (musical or otherwise). So many people get locked into one specific music genre and its truly mind expanding to hear something new that touches you. I was more into rock as a kid but i was introduced to hiphop pretty early on and am very grateful for that, cuz it helped me open up to other genres of music too. A good song is a good song no matter the genre. If it makes you move, paints pictures in your mind, and touches your soul, it's a good song and that translates across borders and generations. And there are so many masterpieces to choose from; why limit yourself? I do have a soft spot for rock/blues and the songs i loved as a kid though and its way cool to see someone who really feels music experience them for the first time.
hello jamal you should listen to the singer ana gabriel has 45 years of experience as a Mexican artist who sings romantic ballads and Mariachi listens to her songs: moon, spell, my talisman, they are some of her best songs her voice is incredible
My wife and I discovered you a few weeks ago - love it. While you are a little younger than us, it is obvious you are an old soul. I think you will love Sun City from the 1980's and I know you will love the audio video original recording of Bob Dylan's Gotta Serve Somebody. Stay safe - love your show!
Jamel! So awesome to watch you react to Juan Gabriel and Vicente Fernandez, their music is incredible and it's always exciting to see other non latino folks dig their stuff. I know you aren't a jukebox man but we just lost one of the world at large and America in particular's great songwriters last week to the virus outbreak, his name was John Prine. You should react to his song Illegal Smile, it's a ton of fun and I guarantee it will put a smile on your face even on a bad day! I would also love to see you check out Found a Cure by Ashford and Simpson and Dukey Stick by George Duke. Good Disco and Funk jams don't get enough love anymore! Oh, and I really love it when you react to classic soul tunes dude. The Righteous Brothers and Bobby Caldwell reactions were a ton of fun to watch. Would love to see you do Cigarettes and Coffee by Otis Redding and Sam Cooke's version of Rome Wasn't Built in a Day, both are great tunes and deeper cuts of theirs I've never seen reactions for on RU-vid. Thanks for sharing man, these are great, and making it easier to get through the hard times we are facing right now. Appreciate you a ton my dude!
Great video Jamel! I love your Juan Gabriel reaction’s. And don’t forget react to this video “Pero Que Necesidad” By Juan Gabriel, it’s a very very great video...
Please, please check out Hector Lavoe, he's Puerto Rican that came to New York in the early 70's I would love for you to hear his voice, one of my favorite songs of his is Todo Tiene Su Final , love your channel, peace and love ❤🙏
I like how you check out many genres. I had never heard of this singer before! Please check out Canadian rock legend Kim Mitchell. The original “ Go For A Soda”. He had a lot of good songs. But this was iconic for this rock song. His ballad All We Are is beautiful and has its original sound. Takes me right back to the 1980s.
Thank you so much, man! I love what you're doing. From the old to the new, check these out- Life During Wartime (Talking Heads), Chocolate Samurai (Fantastic Negrito)
Thank you Jamal for your reaction to my Juan Gabriel my ultimate favorite singer. Can you react to Alicia Villarreal: Te quedó grande la yegua. Thank you
Hi Jamel, i found your channel today, i never see these kind of videos, but dont know why i see your, and i like your style, the fisrt one i see was the Molotov "Frijolero" video, and i like the way you react, so i keep watching other videos of your reactions to mexican groups... and i could see that a lot of comments says they donde understand what you saying but they still love your videos, so i decide to add the subtitles in spanish to your videos, by the moment only to the videos of music in spanish, is a little help and hope you appreciatte it.
GRANdiosas!! Try reacting to them !!! Rocio banquells Abrazame No soy tu muneca Este hombre no se toca Dulce la cantante Dejame volver contigo Heridas Tu muneca And their mash up Tu muneca vs no soy tu muneca!! Great voices great careers Like if you agree!!
The ladders are because we say in spanish "social climbers" to people you call "gold diggers" :) So, the woman was just looking for a ladder to climb. The metaphor could translate to as Juan Ga dancing with shovels, hahaha.
Musically, if you like this, I recommend an old Texas country singer Mart Robbins singing "El Paso". Original 1959 full length version. One of the great voices.
dude i just watched your reaction to Pink FLoyd's Shine on You Crazy Diamond (btw, there will be reaction for second part of the song?), and now i see this! Epic. Subscribed
Man, you should really check out some Rare Earth. They were a couple of white guys and a couple of Latinos. They were so funky, so incredibly soulful, they were recorded on Motown. I'm not kidding. Check out I Just Want to Celebrate, What'd I Say, or Ma.
The small shout and trumpets on the song came from Mexican folkloric music, Juan Gabriel was a full singer in all way, he can sang pop or Mariachi songs, F
She is a gold digger... she is a social climber... so he is UP there now! Now he is doing well... and she ain't! Love this song... so much fun and great lyrics!
