Sup people?! Here's what we think of Juan Karlos - Ere Live Performance Watch our latest video here: • Only in the Philippine... Wlsk xoxo & Efra :) / wlsk15 / realefraherrera #opm #reaction #philippines
TRANSLATION Hi, here's a better translation I copied from one of the comments in another video. CTTO. It's not a perfect English translation but, I tried my best. it's kinda free verse, conversational poetic in Filipino and that's the beauty of it besides the emotions. :) Lahat ng pagmamahal -- All the love At oras na aking binigay -- And time I devoted Parang 'di mo pansin -- You turn a blind eye Ang sama ko sa'yong paningin, mm-mm -- In your eyes, I’m a good for nothing [Chorus] Oh, 'di ba? Nakakaputangina -- Ain't that fucking insane? Tayo'y lumilipad, at ako'y iniwan mo -- We were soaring high, until you left me hanging in the air Oh, 'di ba? Pinagmukha mo 'kong tanga -- Ain't that right? You made a fool out of me Tayo'y lumilipad, at ako'y iniwan mo -- We were soaring, but midway you left me high and dry [Verse 2] 'Di mo agad sinabi -- Why didn’t you just let me know? Na may duda na sa'yong isip (Duda, duda)-- That you were already having doubts (doubts, doubts) Pinalalim mo pa -- You pierced through the gaping wound Ang sugat dito sa aking dibdib, oh, shit -- in my heart and cut me even deeper, oh shit. [Chorus] Hm, 'di ba? Nakakaputangina -- Ain't that fucking insane? Tayo'y lumilipad, at ako'y iniwan mo -- We were soaring high, until you left me hanging Oh, 'di ba? Pinagmukha mo 'kong tanga -- Ain't that right? You made a fool out of me Tayo'y lumilipad, at ako'y iniwan mo sa ere, ere, ere -- We were soaring high, but you just left me high and dry At ako'y iniwan mo sa ere, ere, ooh, ere, ooh -- You left me hanging...suspended...stranded... At ako'y iniwan mo, ooh -- You abandoned me... [Bridge] Tatlong bilyon, ikaw lamang ang aking gusto -- Three billion, but I only want YOU Pasensya na kung ngayon ako'y 'di para sa'yo -- I apologize if I'm not meant for you Tayo ay papunta na sa'ting bagong yugto -- We’re heading our separate ways towards a new chapter 'Yokong mabuhay sa isang mundong walang tayo --If it were me, I wouldn’t want to live in world where there’s no us. Tatlong bilyon, ikaw lang nga ang aking gusto -- Three billion, but I only want you Pasensya na kung ngayon ako'y 'di para sa'yo -- I apologize if I'm not meant for you Tayo ay papunta na sa'ting bagong yugto -- We're heading our separate ways towards a new chapter 'Yokong mabuhay sa isang mundong walang tayo -- If it were me, I wouldn't want to live in a world without us [Chorus] 'Di ba? Nakakaputangina -- Isn't it fucking sadistic? Tayo'y lumilipad, at ako'y iniwan mo -- We were soaring high, until you left me high and dry Oh, 'di ba? 'Di ba? 'Di ba? Pinagmukha mo 'kong tanga -- Right? Right? Right? You made a fool out of me Tayo'y lumilipad, at ako'y iniwan mo -- We were soaring high, but you just abandoned me Sa ere, ere, ere (Oh, 'di ba? Nakakaputangina) -- stranded, suspended... (Tayo'y lumilipad) At ako'y iniwan mo -- (We were flying) Until you deserted me... Sa ere, ere, oh, ere -- hanging, stranded, suspended, (Oh, 'di ba? Pinagmukha mo 'kong tanga) -- Ain't that so? You made a fool out of me (Tayo'y lumilipad) At ako'y iniwan mo -- (We were soaring) Until you turned your back on me...
JK is very remisniscent of a young Bamboo. Performs with wild and reckless abandon, full of passion. Not to take away the glory from JK, he is his own performer and what a songwriter. Hats off!
I think JK is better than Bamboo because he never write his own songs so the passion you are talking about from Bamboo has been contributed by somebody else weather its Rico or Ira Cruz because its their words not his, this is why I think Bamboo is overrated. JK writes his own songs and a great singer too.
@@frozenlicks I didn’t say anyone is better, I said he is reminiscent of Bamboo when he performs. He reminds me of Bamboo. I even laud JK’s songwriting. Besides, passion is not coming from the song but from the performer. The singer brings life to the song. Have you heard other singers perform ERE? Or NOYPI? Do you get the same passion?
the song basically talks about being left hanging in a relationship -- like all of a sudden, you two were staying afloat but then you were left hanging. i personally think that the camera works were intentionally directed that way to portray that he's like floating in the air. he used the curse 'putang/ina' which is like the strongest filipino curse to express how painful his heartbreak must have been. good stuff, yk! what do u expect of jk? nothing but soulful music.
Also i felt like the anger of the "putang ina" Intensify up to the point that jk shows shivvering when saying it, the at the end was like hes tired of being angry to his other half that left him
@@louiearmandtabelisma9816 true! that's a very good observation tho. kinda frustrating when love comes to an end that's why the song has a mix of emotions from regret to anger.
"putang ina" is very stong curse because filipinos cherish family more so to their mothers. Thats why when you want to hurt or be rude we curse whore mother..
This feels like the band music scene in the Philippines in the early 2000's. We used to go to bars and concerts and this was the vibe, gritty kinda dark kinda brooding. Dare I say emo hahhahaha. Because tonight will be the noite that I will fall fo you 😂
From what I heard he wrote 18 love songs. 9 of which are sad heartbroken songs, he will release the songs in an album. He actually just released a new song of few days ago
Just saw a post about his success recently (Him topping on intl Spotify charts/ him entering intl mainstream) & I immediately thought/ predicted that you're definitely goin' to feature him in another reaction video 😳 and u actually did 🤯 just now😮
From Buwan to Ere,, he wrote Buwan when he was so in love with his then girlfriend maureen (his leading lady in the MV)..then this song Ere when they broke up.. both songs are so heartfelt..the emotion feels so real❤❤️🩹
It's just weird that some "conservative" Filipino hate this song just because of the "Nakaka-P*tangina" part. Like, they thought the song was about nonsense and just full of swearing. Nonetheless, I love this song. I don't know, but it speaks loudly to those people who just leave you somewhere out there when you're already attached to them, like nakaka-p*tangina lol :D
to be honest me in my household we never swear because that's how we grew up, but I really like the song and I listen the clean version.. to those people who is like me there's a clean version of this 😊
I think the direct translation of Ere to Spanish is Aire. The complete expression used to be "Left hanging in the air" it just got shortened to "Left hanging."
Yep, 80's and 90's music is what I called "bold yet meaningful" they go and try to extend to its limit enough to take a second look but still not lose it meaning and not to totally to be condemned (atleast by now standard).
Same like "we're flying" could be interpreted as the relationship was going great and all of a sudden he was left in the air, like all of a sudden, he was the only one still hoping in/holding onto the relationship.
The drummer is Joseph "OTEP" Marco Concepcion. He was the OG drummer for southborder, You guys saw him on one of your reactions on their song "kahit kailan" on one of a MYX LIVE episodes. The one with a sleeveless sax player. His drumming influence and inspiration is the great Vinnie Colauita of the band TOTO hence his syncopated breaks on the drum fills. He is a Gretsch Drum Brand endorser, like Vinnie his hero.
@@happyme123100 are you replying about my comment or about what Jk lyrics? you got me confused, coz efra said it like a real cursed not the way Jk sings it..
What JK is singing right here is what a broken hearted drunk will say... The emotions are overflowing and he is hitting the right notes and every feels.
Just some input... a lot of spanish words were somehow changed a bit in spelling and pronunciation here in the philippines. "Ere" means "Aire" in spanish "Air" in English. From the part " Tayo'y lumilipad, at ako'y iniwan mo sa ere" in Spanish "Estamos volando y me dejaste en el aire" signifies like being left hanging.
"Ere" means Air. There's a term in Tagalog where whenever a person is ghosted by a girl, or just left hanging, or you got stood up by a woman, you say "You left me in the air/ I was left in the air" which in tagalog is "Iniwan mo ako sa Ere/ iniwan ako sa Ere". It's translation would be the one I mentioned which was "You just left me hanging".
Ere has evolved over the centuries, sometimes it could mean ego, or an air of arrogance, in this case it means air. I think the best english equivalent of "iniwan mo ako sa ere" (which is an idiomatic expression) would be, "You left me high and dry"
Opm song now a days is soo sick and so underrated. Before i was into international english song like charlie, justin and more famous international artist but now i just realized that the artist now a days and the way how they sing the opm song is just sooo good and so talented(new artist). Im so proud now that the opm song is now on another level.
FINALLYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is long over due reaction video of you two for JK's Ere!!!! was actually expecting that you'll be the first few ones who would make a reaction video for this one since the song/music vid. has been so popular in the past few days. But thanks much for the time appreciating his work, keep up the good work! More power to your channel ✨💗
i remember when this song was first released, it was so controversial bc Philippines being a proper traditional country like any asian country. Later down the road, the song issue just flew by, although juan karlos' team had to promote a rendition without the "words" so everyone can sing it whatever they prefer.
Here's the English translation of the lyrics: "All the love And the time I've given It seems you didn't notice My flaws in your view Hmm, hmm Oh, right? So fd up We were flying, and you left me Oh, right? You made a fool out of me We were flying, and you left me You didn't tell me right away That doubt was already in your mind (doubt, doubt) You deepened the wound Here in my chest Oh, s**t Hmm, right? So fd up We were flying, and you left me Oh, right? You made a fool out of me We were flying, and you left me In the air, air, air And you left me in the air Air, oh, air, oh-oh And you left me, ooh-ooh-ooh Three billion, you're the only one I want Sorry if I'm not for you right now We're heading to our new chapter I don't want to live in a world without you Three billion, you're the only one I want Sorry if I'm not for you right now We're heading to our new chapter I don't want to live in a world without you Right? So fd up We were flying, and you left me Oh, right? Oh, right? Oh, right? You made a fool out of me We were flying, and you left me In the air, air, air (right? So fd up) And you left me in the air (oh, right?) Air, oh, air (you made a fool out of me) (We were flying) and you left me Oh, right? So f****d up We were flying, and you left me Oh, right? Oh, right? Oh, right? You made a fool out of me We were flying, and you left me, hmm"
Hi! Ere is actually derived from “Aire” in spanish. This is someone leaving you hanging up in the air/aire/ere (dejar en el aire). Hope this helps! (- Filipina who lived in Spain) 👍🏼
I did a marathon of ere reaction video and I did search you but you haven't reacted yet...and now after work I opened my YT its you two first on my feeds😊❤
Since you have listen to this better to check out this too: juan karlos - Tapusin Na Natin 'To feat. Paolo Benjamin of Ben&Ben (Official Live Performance)
ERE is a corrupted Spanish word AIRE (AIR in English) so the Lyrics said "Ako'y iniwan mo (Me was left by you) Sa ERE (in the Air) which is equivalent to "You left me hanging (in the air)"
This song sounds like it was influenced by Yeng’s Cool off. Some chord progressions are the same. Listen to that. Definitely a good song. Dan ombao from Sunkissed lola made a great cover of it too
"Iniwan sa ere" you keep hearing this in the song. This basically means, "left hanging" or "you left me hanging" -this are not direct translations to "iniwan sa ere" but this is the feeling of the song. If you get what I mean. :)
The first time I heard it I was like "What the fruit did he say???" Lol. Here in the Philippines, when we say P.I. phrase, it's like the crispiest way to express your frustration.
In Gen Z...Terms it means Ghosted... Iniwan sa erre means left out high and dry...Erre thats a Gen X slang in the Philippines for being Ghosted...Ghosted is the Term that they used it nowadays 👍
the translation in english, I think doesn't fully get the meaning of the song like there is something missing when you translate it in english. You will only totally understand this song if you speak or understand tagalog well, on how JKL deliver this song and that he want to convey the message and he is swearing on how totally on how f*cked up he feels that he is left hanging on the air, or been left behind by the person that he loved.
Ere means sky.. like the song meant to be when he’s with someone who left him (ghosted) when he’s so in loved and give all of him. It’s like his upset and swearing that “this mofo ghosted me”
