I am a beginner flamenco student and had the honour of seeing Juan Martin play at a very small venue in Toronto a few weeks ago (Oct 2023). Mesmerizing, and a huge inspiration.
In 1986 my buddy came back from London,UK and had brought a suitcase full of CD's he bought at Tower Records. He pulled out one CD and said, "I got this one for you, I think you're gonna like it." The CD was Painter In Sound by Juan Martin. I was so taken by his music. It got me on the path of playing flamenco guitar! Gracías Maestro Martin!!
I went to Andalucia looking for flamenco and found none. Then, back where I lived in England, JM and his troupe were touring and put on a performance in our town. Heard them again next time they came. Music and dancing never forgotten. It's great to hear JM again on RU-vid. Thanks for spreading the flamenco message. It is such exciting music for me.
Did you try to actually talk to an spaniard? I'm not even talking about befriending us: I do get from britons behaviour in our shores that we are, in fact, a lower form of the human species, with the sole purpose of carrying overprized sangria and frozen paella to your tables in the summer. But regardless of that, maybe just talk to us and ask for flamenco spots. Try that next time, it works.
Juan Martín ! I seem him as a grandpa and my first flamenco teacher who lead me in this world. With all my respect and thanks, I wish u happy, health and all the best! Bless u
Thanks for sharing. I fondly remember when Juan Martin came to Whitehorse Yukon and he performed for us in the northern Canada. It was a dream concert. I thank Juan and those to organized this concert for us. Not all of us can afford to travel to Spain to search out a concert by Juan. Thank you again Juan for blessing us with your great talent.
I just came here from Justin Hawkins Rides Again channel where he was interviewing Rick Beato and mentioned Juan and how he was influenced by his flamenco playing. I can see why. So good!
¡¡ ala verdad no se con que quedarme o elegir esta tremenda rumba tocada por un fenómeno maestraso . o la hermosa silueta de esta bailadora . a ya se me quedo con ambas sin dudar mas !! bale mil me gusta ok
@@picadomusikverlaggmbhgerma6335 im not agree. I think that Segovia made way for classical guitar to big concert halls. The same done Paco but for flamenco guitar. Juan Martin made very goon lessons for players and helped lot of students make first steps to flamenco. I do adore all three of them )))
