I had the pleasure to know and perform with Juan on this concert and others with Ben Harper. Juan was so talented and such a vibrant individual. He will be missed. Peace and power.
Urgent announcement. There is no funk left. Juan has it all. If you need funk please seek out your nearest juan nelson. All funk and groove is now concentrated within his sweat.
I learned a lot from this guy. He was one of the best around. I just can't believe he's gone. That's pretty sad that's a big loss for the bass comunity, he was just a great human been.
Wow, has a Bootsy feel at the beginning, The singing with the bass reminds me of George Benson stuff and the Groove, man the Groove. If I practice 24x7 the rest of my life I won't be this good.
Juan is gone, rest in peace brother, rest in peace. I'm sure you are in heaven "mon nounours", Ben Harper quelle chance tu as eu de pouvoir l'avoir eu dans ton groupe et surtout comme ami.
thanks for the upload man. I am a fan of Ben Harper And the Innocent Criminals but i never heard this bit. Juan Nelson fucking rocks big time. This should be what Snoop dog (Snoop Lion) comes on stage to :DD
I was few weeks ago at Parco dei Suoni, Riola Sardo, a small town near Oristano in Sardegna (Italy) for Ben Harper's concert. Lucky enough I was treated with free tickets and pass, because at the beginning of the third song, I left. The music had nothing to do with this Funkatizing dope administered by Mr Nelson and the other guys. Moreover, the gig was located in a very dusty site with one of the worst acoustic I have ever heard at a musical venue.
@basskope no at all !! it's a story of professional mix in the stage!! nelson isa fuckin' groovy bassman and the sound on this stage was incredible!!! get "pleasure and pain" dvd and you will see cheers
