Same happening right now in Tijuana, however you all in El Paso are doing a way better job at covering this new wave of narco violence than those in San Diego.

We used to have a business in El Paso in the '80s and '90s. Loved going to Juarez for lunch a few times. My Mexican-American employees would be nervous going there while I was too naive to be concerned. It's much, much worse now. There are millions of tourists waiting to go to Mexico and drop off billions of dollars if they would only stop the violence.

I grew up in El Paso. Juarez has some of the sweetest people, but the cartels are ruthless. The police officers in Juarez are even worse! The wall is great but it sucks when the border patrol leaves parts of the fence open on purpose. Then they “abandon” post letting all that crap spill over to the U.S. this happens in the lower valley. Glad I left, El Paso is not the same anymore. It hasn’t been for a while now.

It's just narco politicking. No one cares much to ever do a civil war 2 in Mexico. Everyone is living, has there own problems, or in a rancho en la sierra. It's like saying a civil war erupts in usa because of gang violence in Chicago or la.

This is exactly why Juarez has a terrible reputation for being inherently dangerous, and it's probably the main reason why Chihuahua (the state in which Juarez is located) is a "Reconsider Travel" state. Being in Northern Mexico is a red flag by itself, as that is where most of the crime in Mexico tends to occur and you are most likely to get killed by a cartel, but being a landlocked city is even worse, as Mexico's landlocked cities tend to be more dangerous on average than coastal cities due to their lack of resorts and higher cartel presence. And worst of all, this is a border town, and most of the areas that are close to the US-Mexico border are unlikely to attract tourists due to how danerous they are. Reynosa, a landlocked border city in Tamaulipas (one of Mexico's six "Do Not Travel" states), is one of the most infamous examples of what I'm talking about.
ITs the dark side of Mexico why not only the Wall was erected, but also why so many wait at the boarder hoping to get into the US. The problem is that the US dont want to import cartels. And rest assured the cartels very much want their people state side to expand their operations. And its to this fact that those in Mexico and other nations find it so hard to enter the US, while those from European nations have it far less challenging. The US already went thru this before when Fidel Castro sent to the US their worst of the worst criminals and convicts, Those Cubans turned south Florida into a war zone, And set up operations for the then 1970-80's cocaine narcotics game. But the US went outright deporting such peoples back to Cuba, and basically vowed to never again open its doors in such a manner. fast forward to today and what we have is basically a repeat. its a tough thing to say, but the reality is.. the peoples of mexico must go to war with the cartels. Civil war. The cartels must be eradicated. I remember the then president of Taiwain calling upon his people to be exempt of criminal prosecutions if they killed their nations cartel members. People world wide thought it to be a barbaric move, but many did not see it as such. Their problem was that which their government alone could not handle, to bring peace and stability to the nations people. In the end, the only way was to give such power to the people, to resolve their long standing problem. and as a result, it worked. Crime exists for many reasons, not all of which derive from il intent. but when organize crime threatens the welfare of the people and seeks to control the government itself then measures must be taken to bring order. Mexico needs a civil war. great pain loss and hardship for all the people to mentally come to terms with their relationship with one another and that of a nation. unity and strength from a great loss. And yes as crazy as this may sound, dont forget how the United States came to be, and what the civil war opened in its wake. No one want to see death and destruction, but like a body fighting off a deadly viral outbreak, the body does all it can to kill off the bad in favor for stability and overall health.
The cartels need to be eradicated. Drugs do nobody any good in America. They exist only for the cartels. Only then will Mexico and the U.S. truly benefit. One problem is the U.S. government is weak under Biden.
I guarantee, Mexican drug lords don't care to step foot into the states. These aren't "gang members", they're powerful, well armed, and well funded terrorist. They are part of the reason we have so many homeless people in this country. Due to them crossing meth and heroine into the states. Mean while, guns and money crosses into Mexico. And who's paying them? Well that's the good ole USA 🇺🇸. Remember when the US got caught sending guns and money into Mexico? Yeah me either, that's because it was covered up.

While I have compassion for tourist workers who are missing out in pay hunkered down, the decrease in tourism might be a good thing in that the loss in revenue will create downward pressure to end the fighting and chaos

My local police precinct says that these people at the border are just hard working Mexicans just a little rowdy. There is nothing to fear and no way this chaos could spill over into your suburban neighborhoods.

The majority of drugs come by motor vehicles. If there wasn't a demand for drugs in the US, most of the major problems would be eliminated including large numbers of immigrants trying to leave due to drug cartels and a lack of jobs.
