It's the tallest and fastest Vekoma SLC on the planet, standing a massive 167 feet high with a top speed of 63 mph. Of course there are taller and faster coasters out there, but the other Vekoma SLCs are only 100-110 feet tall and go 50 mph.
Did you know that the reason it's called Jubilee Odyssey is because it was built to celebrate Queen of England's Golden Jubilee in 2002, which was the 50th anniversary of her coronation?
Fantasy Island is located near Skegness in Lincolnshire, England.

Only this and Kumali have original SLC designs. And Kumali's been replicated, so this is the only one with a unique layout.

I rode it this afternoon. Built by Vekoma in 2002, it is a cracking coaster - so fast that the ride is over in no time. Near the sea means that it is often closed when the wind goes above 30mph. When it's open it's great - be ready for the corkscrew right at the end.

Actually, this cost £28 million (around $37 million) so cost a lot more than any B&M Invert (to date) built. Yeah, hard to believe isn't it!

Eccentric Gamer But that's just speculation. Maybe they did approach B&M for the ride, but B&M refused because of the complications they would have building it. That could also be a reason.

Eccentric Gamer Could be! But they have a factory in the USA (Clermont Steel Fabrications) and their own in Europe so I doubt it could be that they were fully booked. But hey, what do we know?!

I noticed that both Custom SLC's are located at seaside parks. (The other custom SLC being Fly the Great Nor'easter at Morey's Piers)

This ride was my first ever time on a rollercoaster and oh my god it was so good! The drop is intense and quick and the loops and turns are fun. Definitely recommend this ride!

This Vekoma SLC appears to be the smoothest I've seen. That drop is quite high being at 167 feet. At least this doesn't have a banked hill for the first drop like the majority of them, which probably makes this coaster appear smoother than the rest of the SLCs made by Vekoma.

Leonardo Bruzzone True, Kumali does look a bit smoother than Jubilee Odyssey looking at the videos. Yes, the two SLCs that have had their trains replaced with Kumbak trains are reported to be giving smoother rides. I wonder how The Great Nor' Easter will turn out after the track being replaced by Vekoma? :-)

Don't know if you've been to KK since, but I can confirm to you John they have not helped very much. The headbanging is gone, but the restraints are awkwardly shaped, and the ride is still jumpy and bumpy as all hell.

Meh, a few would be nice, for the novelty. Granted, they're very underwhelming, a tad slow, rough, jumpy, etc. but compare them to cats- if you're lonely, one is nice. If you want more, get 5. But that's enough cats.

People complaining about their ears and headaches are the reason why classic and iconic rides like Steel Phantom, Drachen Fire, and Anton Schwarzkopf’s Thriller are modified and/or removed. Get TF over it. Don’t ride it, or ride it understanding the experience.

@@rivermyerss the drop is great,they take you high then let you go, I've been on it more than 20 times and it never gets boring.i believe it's the 2nd highest inversion rollercoaster in Europe.

I don't know about some other people, but this looks like a pretty great ride to me. People might say it's rough, but I'm tolerant to Boomerang headbanging so I probably wouldn't think it's that bad.

Not allowed to ride this any more since I am too tall! Last time I rode on this I was pretty damn sure my feet were gonna hit one of the crossbars so rode around the entire thing with my legs hunched to my chest - on top of the fact the guy didn't lock in my seat and I was sat in the front.

One of only few SLC’s without the boring old Rollover-Sidewinder-Horizontal twists layout. (And no, Kumali at Morey’s Piers in NJ doesn’t count. The station, brakes, etc. might be different but honestly that’s just about it.)

I rode this a few years ago, once in the front, once in the back. One was reasonably smooth(ish), the other was brutal. I can't remember which, could any seasoned riders tell me in case I ever want to go back.

+LeEvilPineapples I took my daughter there for the first time in many years. Her first ride on both Vekomas. She preferred Millennium but the front seat on this one was running great. We did it in the dark of night, with a great view of the silvery, shimmering sea...and an ocean of caravans filled with people who often seem to appear on Jeremy Kyle..
