I attended an Alice Cooper charity concert and got to go backstage and meet Alice. As I was shaking his hand, Rob walked up and Alice said, "Rob, meet my good friend Connie". Both men were very humble and gracious. It was one of those times when an artist you have followed and supported for many years lives up to your expectations.
My father died in 2023 and this was his favorite band and one of his favorites songs! I like to listen to them, and love the band now because it comforts me through the time. I miss him so much❤️
well.. both yes and no :P yes: the will always make good songs and still delivere when needed. no: rob can`t sing like he did 30 years ago. why need no epxlanation haha! but when taking his age into consideration, he has got a REALLY good voice!! there aren`t many like him !
His voice is unbelievable. Gay or not this guy can fucking sing. Funny how people come and talk trash , yet they are watching this video. Rob is one if the most biggest contributions to metal , that simple.
I can't tell you how many time's I've watched this video... At times, it's moved me to tears...! The drum kit sounds PERFECT!! 5 STARS! Thank you for posting this! 🤘🤘
I first heard this when I was a 10-year old boy (unleashed in the east) and was gobsmacked! I'm now listening to the same song at the end of my life and I realize it is still the same person singing it i.e. Rob Halford. Makes me realize how short and precious life is.
im 25 but im sure i will never forget this song or stop listening to it from time to time. Music comes and goes but songs like this will remain in your memory for a long time, sometimes forever
@@starmc26 yes but not so much standard back in the day. Halford was the man back in the day & a major groundbreaker vocal wise. Probably the most inspiring metal vocals there will ever be. So many followed his example & set the stage....
Ok, have heard other versions of this song as well as the original by Joan Baez, and my opinion "will never" change this is by far the best version of this song! Holford has a unique voice, so does Ozzy, Joe Cocker,Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, that make their songs very hard to beat and never duplicated.
In a countryside with a beer bottle in hand , sitting on my cruiser bike. The moon is shining bright . What esle do you need. Love from west bengal, India. 🤟🤟🤟
Diamonds and Rust Joan Baez Well, I'll be damned Here comes your ghost again But that's not unusual It's just that the moon is full And you happened to call And here I sit Hand on the telephone Hearing a voice I'd known A couple of light years ago Heading straight for a fall As I remember your eyes Were bluer than robin's eggs My poetry was lousy you said Where are you calling from? A booth in the midwest Ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks You brought me something We both know what memories can bring They bring diamonds and rust Well, you burst on the scene Already a legend The unwashed phenomenon The original vagabond You strayed into my arms And there you stayed Temporarily lost at sea The Madonna was yours for free Yes, the girl on the half-shell Could keep you unharmed Now I see you standing With brown leaves falling all around And snow in your hair Now you're smiling out the window Of that crummy hotel Over Washington Square Our breath comes out white clouds Mingles and hangs in the air Speaking strictly for me We both could have died then and there Now you're telling me You're not nostalgic Then give me another word for it You who are so good with words And at keeping things vague 'Cause I need some of that vagueness now It's all come back too clearly Yes, I loved you dearly And if you're offering me diamonds and rust I've already paid
I listened to this song originally and repeatedly as a teenager ...and now this beautiful rendition of this song so many years later....what a journey....long, difficult, but beautiful...so happy I was able to hear both renditions of this timeless classic both with young and now, old ears.
Todavía me acuerdo. Aunque de clásica y jazz he tenido más posibilidades. Me gustaría comentar contigo por WhatsApp si quieres. A mí me apasiona la música y sólo tengo un amigo al mismo nivel de pasión hacia este arte. Qué opinas?
Beautiful melodic song. Incredible vocal range , and the guitars, bass and drums are epic! One of my all time favourite songs . Love playing this song, late at night, cruising up the Fraser Canyon Hwy in BC 🇨🇦.
I first heard this gem in 1986 while stationed in what was then West Germany. Sitting on the Czech border on another cold dreary day and this song made it bearable. Just hearing it takes me back to a better time when we knew who and where our enemies were. I also like the original version .
First heard this on the exciter album live That album turned me into a metalhead at 15 yrs old I'm now 57 and still love this tune any version of any singer written and first performed by Joan Baez is about bob Dylon !!!!
La escuché por primera vez hace 5 años, poco después de la muerte de mi novia. Son muchos recuerdos y cada vez que la oigo lloro aún como un niño. Para mi es lo mejor que se ha podido crear hasta ahora
