Spent most of my life knowing nothing but pop music, rap, and pop country due to my circumstances. Felt robbed when I discovered this type of metal in my 20's.
Same here although my friends helped out with that back when I was about 16. My father loved Beach Boys too much and there was a lot in common with them and the boy bands of the early 00's, although I have to give him credit for introducing me to Black Sabbath.

This album is one of my favorites of Judas Priest, and not only because it was their first album that I heard back when I started listening to Metal in 85! So many good songs in it! I like the production as well. Not so much the drums. Just imagine if Scott Travis played on it... Holland made a good work, but Travis is on another level! Greetings from Italy!
same for me, the prelude is like the low point of your life, depressing. Throughout the song you can feel the ups and downs via the guitar solos which is amazing, and it just cheers you up to rock hard and do what you want, be a free soul!

Was in high school when this album came out, living outside Toronto which was a metal haven at the time. Friends and I would play this album constantly. Still love going back to it.
Saw this tour at Madison Square Garden. 4th of July weekend. Words can't explain the mayhem. Best concert I've ever seen yet. It was completely insane. 200k in damages. Great times.
I've been listening to this one for around 18 years now, and it amazes me how underrated it is. This should be one of the top hits of Judas Priest, alongside Ram It Down and Breaking The Law.

@@mitch5699 Judas Priest outlasted Grunge by a long way. Yeah Nevermind was excellent, but Priest never went away. Grunge tried to kill Metal. And failed miserably.

I am on a Judas Priest kick revisiting all of my old favorite Priest songs. I've come to the conclusion that this is my favorite song out of all of them. It's so symmetrical with the versus, bridge, and chorus it's #1.

The sparkomatic speaker commercial had them in it doing this song too! I remember when that showed up on tv and flipping out like no way!! Then trying to catch it when it came on again to tape it on VHS so I could have a copy of it when I was 14/15. Great album and solid track!
Robs voice was other wordly on this tour.... never forget his live vocal performance. this album was killer but vengeance still a little better ... but this tour ,great white opened and they were good 2 ,but priest was absolutely at their finest on this tour . never forget Robs voice on this tour in 1984
No one touched Priest in the early 80s! Except maybe Iron Maiden. Those two bands took over the world during that time. Glorious Time to be a Head Banger! \m/
I went in 84' for this tour & Halford was at his best. JP today should be called '"Halford & Friends" I'm following KK with his band. I love KK & HAVE since 83"

I saw this tour in July at the Cow Palace(Daly City), 1984 was an awesome year!!!! Also saw Rush, Grace under Pressure Tour, in May. Also at theCow Palace. Also in May of 1984 was Scorpions Love at First Sting, at the Cow Palace.Then there was Iron Maiden, for the Power Slave Tour(World Slavery Tour )in March of '85. Also, at the Cow Palace. Those were the greatest days of my youth!!!! I yearn to go back in time and see these GIFTED MUSICIANS again. Who wants to go with me?
