guys, kyokushin karate is a fantastic martial art. the 100 man kumite isn't about knocking out all of your opponents. it is an ENDURANCE test, both physically and mentally. if any of you have ever sparred in a striking art before, you would understand that it is hard trying to keep your hands up to block punches/kicks or to strike because you will be very tired to the point where your body won't let you block or punch even if your mind wants to. props to judd!

Dear all, as I know the target it's to not abandon the fight till you are not done with 100 opponents challenge. Yes,it is an endurance test not who will win the 100 fight.

Not Kyokushin. No Kyokushin fighters. A different style. Judd was not Kyokushin for maybe 15 years before this. Not Kyokushin shihan. Not Kyokushin 5e Dan. Where di he get 4e Dan and 5e Dan from?? A lot of fighters here take there color belt off and put black belt on for video.
@Soldier-of-God.
@Soldier-of-God. 6 лет назад
joopsnoop he was fourth Dan black belt, when he completed the Kyokushin Karate Uchi Deshi program, under our Kyokushin Karate founder, Sosai Oyama Masutatsu! Shihan Judd Reid was the first foreigner, non Japanese to complete it! When he completed that program, he was a fourth Dan black belt, awarded by Sosai Oyama Masutatsu himself. That he might have temporarily exited Kyokushin Karate, for his own personal reasons, does not take away his Kyokushin Karate rank, achievements and qualifications. It is like a lawyer who has graduated from Harvard University Law School. Ceases to practice law for a number of years, to pursue another profession, then say for example after five years, decides to revert back to being a practising lawyer. The knowledge would still be there and so would his university, academic qualifications.
@joopsnoop
@joopsnoop 6 лет назад
4e Dan? I thought from photos he was 3e Dan? And even if it was 4e Dan, where did the Kyokushin 5e Dan come from? "Temporary exit'/ lol. For how many years? And the lawyer would have to resit examinations and bar exam, not just come back and say he is even more advanced than before. I am sorry but there are too many lyings.
@Soldier-of-God.
@Soldier-of-God. 6 лет назад
joopsnoop ok simply put I have seen people in other professions such as teaching take a break, for a number of years, then go back to it. You do not see them go through their university studies all over again, completing their Bachelor of Arts degree, then their diploma of education, to recommence teaching. Dude plain and simple the founder of Seidokaikan and K-1 World Grand Prix, Ishii Kazuyoshi, left Kyokushinkaikan Karate as a fourth Dan black belt. Should he choose to revert back to Kyokushin Karate, after so many years, are you going to tell him to go back to white belt and re-grade, through each rank, all the way back to his fourth Dan black belt? How old are you? Grow up and act your age, not your shoe size. As I said Shihan Judd Reid left Kyokushin Karate, for however long he did. That is his personal business, I am certain whatever the motive, that only he and those close to him know why. Are you going to have the bravery to go and tell him to his face, that you question his current rank, his previous achievement and his completion of the 100 Man Kumite? I get a feeling you have a dislike of the gentleman for some inexplicable reason. Do your research, from what I remember by reading Sensei Nicholas Pettas' 'Blue-Eyed Samurai 1000 Days in the Young Lions Dormitory '. There he mentioned that Shihan Judd Reid had arrived from Australia, already as a black belt. Of which if my memory serves me correctly, Sensei Nicholas Pettas, mentions that by the completion of the Uchi Deshi program, under Sosai Oyama Masutatsu himself at the Kyokushin Karate Honbu, in Japan, he was awarded his fourth Dan. If I remember the information incorrectly I apologise to anyone out there. However reading that book I recall him saying that Shihan Judd Reid arrived at the Honbu already as a black belt, while many other Uchi Deshi students started from white belt, or had only progressed to the first few ranks beforehand and went back on white belt, to start fresh. Now Sensei Nicholas Pettas is no longer with Kyokushin Karate, however he himself still wears his Kyokushin Karate black belt, awarded to him once again, by Sosai Oyama Masutatsu himself, after having completed the Uchi Deshi program, like Shihan Judd Reid. So are you going to tell also Sensei Nicholas Pettas, to stop wearing that rank, because he now independently teaches his own style of Karate?
@joopsnoop
@joopsnoop 6 лет назад
Was Judd 4e Dan after uchi dechi?? If he has certification from Sosai then okay. Even if that where is 5e Dan from?? And if he goes away for 15? 20? years when he comes back he should be humble and know that he left and did nothing to help Kyokushin in that time but instead was in Thailand helping someone else and himself. So he should be humble when he comes back not go around world making himself like he is the no.1 student of Sosai.
@Soldier-of-God.
@Soldier-of-God. 6 лет назад
joopsnoop people leave for various reasons, as I pointed out Sensei Nicholas Pettas was one of the last Uchi Deshi students of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama. He has also left Kyokushin Karate, at least in terms of the organisation. He still teaches a Kyokushin Karate curriculum! Kancho Kazumi Hajime, has also left Kyokushin Karate, to form his own organisation! Again he still teaches Kyokushin Karate, as his base, combined with Taikiken, as well as some grappling techniques, incorporated. Another Japanese Kyokushin Karate legend and world champion, Yamaki Kanji, has also left Kyokushin Karate, to pursue his ambitions with his own school, separately from Kyokushin Karate, yet again still mostly a Kyokushin Karate curriculum. Shihan Judd Reid was awarded his fifth Dan, after completing the 100 Man Kumite. Again why do you not contact the man himself, asking him his reasons for his departure from Kyokushin Karate, for a number of years? Also ask him yourself to show you his black belt dans accreditations. You have not seen my first and second dan Kyokushin Karate, black belts certificates. So you could say for example question the credibility and integrity of my claim, of me being a Kyokushin Karate, second dan black belt! I myself have never seen Kancho Matsui Shokei's several dans black belts certificates bestowed upon him by Sosai Oyama Masutatsu himself, nor the ones thereafter. Nor have I seen those of Kancho Midori Kenji, Shihan Francisco Alves Filho, Sensei Glaube Feitosa, etc. The quality, skill and knowledge of those individuals, is evident. They no doubt have not only the skill, most importantly to verify their qualifications, but also the certificates. To me as I last mentioned, it seems to me like you have a grudge against Shihan Judd Reid, for whatever reason. I have met the man and he was nothing but humble, respectful and never once was arrogant or boastful. As I also said previously, people such as Kancho Ninomiya Yoko of Enshinkaikan Karate, Kancho Ishii Kazuyuki of Seidokaikan Karate, Kancho Hidenori Ashihara of Ashiharakaikan Karate, all left Kyokushin Karate with high rank black belts. With the exception of Kancho Ashihara, who already passed away, God bless his soul, should the other ones who are still alive, choose to return to Kyokushin Karate, who are we to prevent them from doing so, also discredit the black belt dan ranks, that they obtained in Kyokushin Karate, in their initial martial arts careers? Likewise you cannot expect Shihan Judd Reid to return to Kyokushin Karate, with a white belt!

There’s no doubt Judd Reid is one badass karataka, and to fight 100 man is no easy task, however to my understanding the founder of kyokushin karate the late sosai Mas Oyama, his version is to win or draw every fight even if you win 99 fights and lose the last 100th fight, it is not a completion of the 100 man kumite. 17 has completed the kyokushin 100 man Kumite
