This performance was the closest I’ve seen to snooker perfection. Literally all facets of his game were in perfect working order. Even Ronnie at his best would have struggled probably.
For such a wonderful player Higgins has been I feel for him because he's never been as good as he was in his best years because for him to have one of the top 3 Major tournaments 11 years ago shows me that despite playing as well as he used to on the odd occasion I think because of age he's suprised he can still do it but look at Ronnie O'Sullivan whose not the player he was at his best in 08 12 but because he knows that it's so much easier for him to fight for every frame even in this year's world and 2020 world's he won 5 frames needing snookers 2 this year and prime Ronnie wouldn't play on needing 1 snooker but the frames I mentioned there he needed 2 snookers in each.1 thing I've noticed especially with Williams and O Sullivan is they try to make a century whereas for most there career they didn't really care especially Williams but Ronnie O'Sullivan to a pretty big extent also.This trio are possible the best ever but had to contend with each other over there careers from start to finish.Look at the younger lads at how hard they try to make a century when the frame is over it reminds me of prime hendry to is in the conversation as greatest ever for as long as the game will be played.They are not what they were because put simply in the last 10 years Higgins and Williams have won 1 major between them and that was Williams beating Higgins in the 18 world final where Higgins despite playing 7 of the best frames of his life from way behind never really looked liked winning because when he got to within 1 Williams just won 2 in a row to win the title.He never really had a chance vs Trump when he missed the chance to lead 6-4 Trump played some of his best ever snooker to win the match but John did have a very good chance in the 17 final vs Selby where from 12-⁴ ahead just like the first final they played in 07 Selby got all the way back to level but in 07 Higgins upped his level to win 5 in a row with outstanding snooker he didn't have that same belief or Strength 10 years later and lost eventually to Selby who apart from O'Sullivan has been the best player in the last 10 years with 4 world's each and 7 Major wins to O'Sullivan 10 in the last 10 years.Its no huge surprise that they both won the last 3 world titles for the second time and the semi in 20 was really the final in everyone's mind because both were massive favorite to win the title if they bet the other and look back 10 years where they won 3 in a row again so without a doubt they have been the best although Trump had 2 brilliant seasons winning 11 tournaments he's won 2 Major's in 10 years which doesn't really cut it when the debate is said and done.Just look at tennis Federer has quite a few more tournaments won than the other 2 greats but all they talk about is the big ones.Trump and Zintong look to be heading for quite a few matches and finals between them in the next 10 years with bingtao the only one I can see stopping them so Kids may catch up but he's a great in my eyes forever like Alex Higgins before him.
what we all can say: this WSC was trump's ... the whole year he destroyed everyone, and during the world championship there was - in a way - no doubt, that he will get this ... although, thanks to ronnie's surprising first round lose ...
There is no one can guarantee for a victory, no matter how you good at that, sometimes you just can't feel well on it. Like you said about Judd's performance in 2019, this year, Ronnie almost played very well in every round, he was more careful, rarely missed balls, his concentration was pretty good in whole tournament.
Like how you are showing this in 2022 when he was awarded the MBE, Doesn't make him still the best player of the Century, BBC and WST needs to shake up the balls as like how they show people who just can't handle defeat and get the sulk on when the loose,
