I think there's a misconception about the role of a defense attorney. Despite what has become common behavior, the intended role of that attorney is to make the State prove its evidence in support of the charges against his/her client, and to raise objections to be decided by the Judge when and if the State violates any laws, rules of evidence, or Constitutional rights of his/her client. It's not to simply find ways to get the client off the hook. This attorney has no fault to find with the State on those grounds and so to his credit he stays within the appropriate limit of his role.

This man is a menace. He may blame drugs - and drug usage may play a role in his behavior, but it is more than that - he is violent (DV), narcissistic (failure to render aid), doesn’t care about anyone else’s needs or security (robbery), and doesn’t care about society’s rules (cartel ties). He should be locked up for the rest of his natural life. He is not capable of rehabilitation.

Unfortunately this man is institutionalized ... I've heard of such cases. How unfortunate that some throw their lives away ... obviously in this man's case at an early age. No idea of this man's age, but when it comes to a parole hearing, probably not much future there either. Age appears to be catching up with him, and another 15 years isn't likely to be very kind to him. My heart breaks for ppl who choose such pointless lives. Poor choices are made every day .... Repeated poor choices, and they land exactly where this man is right now .... back to lockup for a long time. We reap what we sow, more than we sow, later than we sow. It's a fact, just as this case indicates. How sad he possibly (and likely) didn't have guidance or mentoring early on in life.
