I tried to axe him something. Guess he knows more than the attorney. And refusing a breathalyzer test is usually an automatic suspension of your license.

Don't be racist. Just bc white people pronounce something one way doesn't mean it is the right way

Exactly and what used to be 6 months suspension is now one year in most states. So not worth it.

I wouldn’t let anyone axe me, either.

Irresponsible people smoke.

Aren't you just the most empathetic person. I can understand your statement if you said it towards drunk drivers, narcotic abusers, etc. But to shame a good majority of people who smoke, like me, is petty and hurtful. I smoke because I have high anxiety and PTSD. I'm a banker with autism and it's my relief. It's not a healthy one, but that's not fir you to decide that I'm irresponsible.

@@michaeljoseph577 Amen! My mother-in-law (a 100% better mother than my own) was one of the most wonderful people to walk the earth: she never harmed a soul, was loving, and had wonderful old school manners. She never even got a parking ticket! Unfortunately, she smoked for decades, but she managed to quit for 10 years. She started smoking again when she turned 70 because she dreamed about smoking every night and the urge to smoke was constant, not to leave out that she said she was old and all 6 of her children were successful and married with children of their own. So if she got cancer, she figured it was OK….she had a horror of being a burden on anyone. She died of esophageal cancer 6 years later. So please stop saying really irresponsible, hurtful, and punitive things, and for goodness’ sake, don’t write such things where others can see so that they start making snap judgements about *YOU!!*

Was the judge trying to be funny about making nine dollars an hour? I am certain he makes much more and can therefore maintain a very decent lifestyle so fail to see the humour - especially when others need to have two to three jobs just to make ends meet - jmho

He was referring to the fact that due to cases having been added to his docket at the last minute, he was going to have to work overtime on this day without getting compensated for it.

Yeah, not very sensitive for a judge making (probably) close to $200k per year to "joke" about making $9/hour.

Judge Boyd said her court reporter makes more than her. And he's in a much smaller county and in a lower court, so I don't think he was making a joke. Most judges aren't paid that well. Even in supreme court you must have heard about the gift scandal. In short, Clarence Thomas wanted to quit and make more money, and then a big doner came in to fill that gap, so he could stay there.

Michigan District Court judges earn about $169,000/year. Assuming an 80 hour work week, that would be about $40/hour, so the judge was definitely joking, but it’s not *absurd* hyperbole IMO.
@sandboxplayerz667
@sandboxplayerz667 3 месяца назад
@@pinverarity Yes, but this judge is in legal profession for 44 years. I wouldn't be surprised he's earning far less than most as he's only doing it for the love of the thing at this stage of his career.
