Just keep in mind that it required me to download the entire book (it only took a few seconds, though). If you're not interested in reading the entire thing, there are a few audiobooks on RU-vid that include the whole story.

@@sirrtonk4340 The Judge is supposed to be the embodiment of human suffering. He very much believes in the significance of evil. Anton believes that evil is a childish idea. He sees the world as uncaring rather than malicious. I think that their beliefs and alignments would clash. The Judge is chaotic evil. Anton is lawful evil/neutral. I would give it a few minutes before Anton flips that coin, and Holden starts “dancing”.

Its heavly inplied in the book that he is the devil. For once, his first encounter with the gang is one where he saves them by making home-made gunpowder, which is something the devil in paradise lost was resposible for inventing. His first apparence in the book has he entering a tent where a priest is preaching to his flock, only to accuse the priest of being a zoophile, to which the priest responds "that is him, the devil!", aka, the first time anyone ever refers to him in the book they call him the devil. And to top it all off, in the end of the book, the judge is seem playing the fiddle, which is widely known in culture to be devil's instrument

I think he is war itself. He is the living embodiment of brutality I think he also might be a mix of apocalypse who is one of the horsemen in the book of revelations so is war. I don't really think God exists in any of Cormac's novels. He might be all of the 4 horsemen I haven't seen anything he does that represents the black horse (famine and scarcity). But he is the pale horse (death and pestilence) and red horse (war and conflict). I think one of the biggest indicators of this is he is very very pale. Also, wherever he goes death ensues. Overall, he is exactly what the hermit said "when God made man the devil was at his elbow. A creature that can do anything. Make a machine. And a machine to make the machine. And evil that can run itself a thousand years, no need to tend it." The judge is that evil. He is the embodiment of the pure evil humanity is at its core. We are all capable of pure evil the judge doesn't have limits.

Personally, I think that The Judge is more evil than Jack. Jack is mentally unstable whereas The Judge knows what he's doing, knows that it's evil, and decides to do it anyways.

Just finished reading it, and I really enjoyed it. The last 5 chapters were my favourite, and the ending was perfectly suited for the plot and themes of the book. The most interesting characters to me were: 1. Judge Holden 2. The Kid 3. Captain Glanton

The fact that he can kill beings with a single strike, while having extremely fast running speed and combat speed could definitely mean that he wins against some of the best in TWD universe. The only downside being that his pain tolerance sucks/unknown.

He's faster than the whole verse and he could definitely outsmart as a wincon, but most of TWD can get to wall level while the Judge sits comfortably at peak human.

Judge holden doesn't use shotguns. His choice of weapons were 2 pistols and 1 Rifle. He can carry a cannon and use it like a shotgun though

He is fire resistant, can lift a artillery and use it like a rifle. He can carry a meteorite and throw away as far as 10 ft, The expriest Tobin also explained he Got Superhuman hearing.

I haven't finished the book yet, but so far he seems to outclass everybody in the story when it comes to intelligence. I don't like him (due to things that he does), but his actions, ideologies, and dialogue are very interesting.

2021 Baron looks like Colonel Kurtz

The Baron was messed up but everything he did was for a purpose. His atrocities in the end were usually all in the sake of his line, and to make Harkonnens more powerful. Judge Holden has none of that. Judge did that all for no reason other than the fact that it brought him joy. It’s not that’s he’s evil that makes him so horrifying, it’s that he’s completely sane and mentally well yet he still commits these atrocities, the Baron only does evil out of desire. Evil is the Judge’s nature.

Gotta agree. As good as the Judge is - his actions don't stand out that much in the novel, as everyone in Glanton's gang is as ruthless as him, dare I say the actions of some dude's were more brutal than Judge's (the two infants scene). Not to mention through most of the novel he's kind of just Glanton's yes-man, while Anton is on his own

He didn't feel guilty, his ego was damaged as the woman called him out on his bullshit
