In other words, Cannon brought her own political bias into play; the request for a gag order was to protect law enforcement involved in the case before the court (& thus, to aid in protecting the legal process of the court in general, which is her friggin job!). Campaigning for political office is like filling out a job application. A debate is an interview in front of the people (voters) who will ultimately decide which job applicant will be offered the job. For Cannon to give the debate, or Trump's campaign overall, ANY consideration, or to see it as a factor in making her final decision & order, shows ...at best... her incompetence as a judge and... at worst... her complicity in Trump's criminality.

It's more than keeping the documents for 18 months without excuse, not complying with a subpoena to get them back, misrepresenting that you gave all of them back then obstructing the search by moving documents so they couldn't be found.
Everything about how this judge has handled this case is unorthodox, to put it mildly. An average, competent judge would have had this case to trial weeks ago.

Now she is waiting for election to be over before starting the trial Trump is trying to get the case dismissed so he can claim to be a victim of over ambitious prosecution. While Cannon is waiting until after the election to start the trial so she can dismiss it with prejudice so that Jack Smith can't appeal it. She would be hard pressed to explain why she would be rushing it to trial now that she said that she couldn't start on June 20th.

Judges should not be able to seal any case and that goes for the ones in New York and Georgia. Also as they all should be allowed to be televised. As we have seen many times judges can be very unconstitutional and should be removed from the bench they keep hearing private, so they won’t be found out and held accountable.

As soon as Biden realized he had the documents, he returned them right away. Trump was given about a year to return these documents and said they were all returned, had his lawyer sign that that was all the documents, but it wasn’t. He knew he had more stored away. That was the difference. It’s called willful intent to retain documents that belonged to the National Archives. He thought he was supposed to be able to keep what he wanted, but that’s not how the law works. Also, I don’t believe they can declassify any documents they wish.
