The studio buys the show from her for that number... but it includes all of the production costs (which are substantial). Her take home will be something much smaller than that, although it's still a very comfortable living. She has her own private jet to fly back and forth between New York (where she lives) and Los Angeles (where she tapes her show), e.g.

I always support her sponsors because I want the show to continue. Judge Judy is a Teacher, if only you can listen. Whatever commercial pays for her airtime I buy because we need her, more than ever.
