I love judge Judy. She has ALWAYS maintained that fathers are NOT second class and that parents have equal responsibility for their children, despite who has custody. And we need so much more of that in the legal system. So many times, courts favor women these situations, and judge Judy has never done that. Love her. 👏🏻🙌🏻
She doesn't believe in "child support" but she does believe in "supporting your own children". The words "children" and "support" are code words for the state to have dominion over mothers and fathers. It's sad that despite Judge Judy being against just about everything the family court system stands for she still uses these buzz words for the state in her courtroom.
She started off in a family court when she was noticed, so I'm sure she saw many sad sad situations that made her realize that sometimes the mother doesn't deserve the precious gift of life.

For real. Let's say that he actually beat his child. And yet HE has full custody of the child. So either she is lying and claimed that "he beat up our child" just to stall the process OR she is *way* worse. JJ having been a family court judge for 30 years saw right through that.
Not to mention she said she let their son live with the father because he would teach him to be a man. So if she was telling the truth she must think that a father beating a son teaches him to be a man. But I'm not buying it. She was lying.

What in the world would possess a woman to go on a recorded national television courtroom and say to the world that she didn't help care for her child for years, all because it wasn't asked of her ? And that for all of those years that she didn't contribute a single thing to what it cost the father, but that it was more important to sue the child's father in front of the world, for a measly $ 800.00 of the thousands and thousands she should have given to help in the cost, BUT DIDN'T Whats really sad here, is that when that child reaches the age to completely understand everything associated with parenting , that I dare say he will have a total change in the way he feels for his mother then, than what he feels for her now. And she'll have no one to lay blame on for that, BUT HERSELF.
@@Grtdprsn_herewecome As someone who works in the courtroom, sometimes they do in civil cases. Criminal cases, no way. Depends on the day or the judge. But it will make the one walking off as being in contempt and can give a very nasty fine they have to pay if not other legal things they'll have to take care of. =)

I love this. An important lesson for society to remember. Child support goes both ways, it is not solely the father's responsibility to cough up money.
The Mother doesn't work, she's not on disability and made a terrible excuse of why she did not work. She didn't have custody of the child and didn't pay child support. JJ was not stupid to award this lazy woman any Money
I like how JJ cuts to the chase every time a defendant interrupts, gives irrelevant information without being asked or strays from the point. She possesses an unusual toughness and smarts to be able to control unruly behaviour in a court room, obtain information relevant to the case and to reach a conclusion in a fair manner. Hats off to you Judge!

Well well well,If that man did not have a job and owed CS he would of been dragged over the coals so to speak,I saw one were the guy was paying CS but due to the employers fault they had taken it from his wage but not to the mother and the judge threw him in jail.American need more judge judy's running the country as she does not take sides and is fair,like all judges SHOULD be.

What's the point of having a bailiff if he's asleep on the job? His job is primarily to protect the judge and that lunatic female could have done anything as she marched past dozy bailiff and alarmed looking judge and a cameraman eager to capture the so called 'drama' action - surely this had to be staged, and not very well done either.
Unfortunately, he is only an acor... albeit a well paid one... They have actual courtroom security but usually behind the other doors. Some of the other court shows have acrtual police or peace officers. Bird is just window dressing.

In a real courtroom she would have been brought up on charges of contempt of court for that walk out. I'm surprised it's not available to Judge Judy, since her rulings stand as legal in every state her cases come from. But I have to think if it was available to her, Judge Judy would have had her arrested.
There are multiple things I love about Judge Judy. 1 thing is when she calls able bodied adults (or 16+ kids) on “why aren’t you working?” Or “why don’t you you pay child support” even if the court doesn’t decree it, it’s a parents moral duty to support their child, a judge shouldn’t have to tell them that.
this woman clearly had an addiction I can see that a mile away. she probably didn't quit during pregnancy which resulted in her child getting messed up. now she abandoned her child and is after the father for money. this stuff is just sad. Then she claims he was beating the child. If I were her I would have been in tears at that point. she doesn't give a rats behind about her kid. and she walks out of the courtroom. what an idiot.

That man should sue now for four years of child support, that'll really piss her off. He ought to at least have it on the books because when that child is ready for college it'll be needed.
