Her father was a man who stood strong in his role as a husband, father, and provider. Although he struggled with mental illness, he still valued his commitment to his family FIRST. He didn't allow himself to be a "weak link" in the family, or breakdown the family structure and/or support ...that kind of man deserves respect. Men like that SHOULD be respected in the community. Those were real men back then.
She certainly does sound like Jennifer Lewis . I can see them being friends with each other. It would be a good and interesting time hanging out with them both together.
dana4U100 No people who are very similar usually don’t click. These two are both crazy and loud. They’d be looking at each other like “damn she loud.” Lol.
Black women we are Queens and nurturers. We need to take back what was taken from us. We have the ability to heal, to comfort, to love and to transform and that’s all we need as a community!
ATTENTION PARENTS: this is the type of the person you come out with after putting a lot into raising them and staying present in their lives. BE PRESENT! This woman is nothing less than a m a z i n g 💯
They asked her questions but as soon as she opened her mouth to speak the room was so quite. That’s what happens when a queen speaks. Y’all do realize Charlemagne (and his co-hosts) WILL cut you off they will talk crazy to guests they doesn’t gaf. They’re respectful to a handful of people they’re even disrespected each other.
When she said “him & his brothers were crazy” I busted out laughing 😭😭. We know what she meant, she’s just so lax & so easygoing. I love her. She’s just so beautiful & so brilliant ♥️
Finally!! This is the first interview I've seen where I read the comments an seen nothing but positivity about an African American women!! From the looks to her personality!!! That's what I love to see!!!!!! Keep doing your thing judge Toler.. nothing but positive vibes an pure honesty
There's two types of Black women in the world. There's women like Cardi who act loud and obnoxious everywhere they go, and then theres a VERY LOW amount of black women who have their life together like Judge Lynn. That's why Black men are now dating white, spanish and lightskin mixed women. We're not gonna wait till Black bitches find out Tyrone the Scammer or Drug Dealer isn't fit for a father and they have 3 kids with 3 different fathers.
I wanna know why “NWA” and “BallerAlert” couldn’t just say yeah she’s beautiful without taking jabs at dark skin black women? Trash ass trolls. There really is a group of people that are a waste of fuxking life honesty if the purge exists I have a group I’d get rid of on that day. Take notes fellas!!
Why do Darkskin women always have to guilt trip men into liking them. If we aren't attracted to hair hats so be it. Everyone is allowed to have a preference and since when has freedom of speech become an issue. It's okay for ratchet women like Nicki to rap about "I'm so fly I just fucked a white guy" but once a Black man has a preference, it's the end of the world.
This interview was everything! Her insight and experience is priceless. Her family endured yet achieved so much. Her personality is so beautifully strong. Amazing woman she is.
I didn’t want this to end I just love her energy and rawness her edge she is such a breath of fresh air. I could literally listen to her speak all day 😍
I'm so happy to hear Lynn tell her family's story. Mr. Toler helped a whole lot of people in the Black community in Columbus Ohio. I've heard from Attorney's and Judges as well how brilliant Attorney Toler was.
This was by far one of the best interviews I've watched. I can listen to her speak all day and learn some things from her. I want to learn more about mental health.
This is a remarkable woman in more ways than most people could imagine! She was more successful than her husband financially but never made him feel less than a man and still considered him to be her rock and the head of the household a lot of women wouldn't do that!!! She is beautiful and brilliant, yet honest and will admit her faults, and she just has a fucking cool, badass demeanor about her!!! To me she is the epitome of a great woman!!!!!
I’m late but hearing the judge story made me tear up. To live like that as a child and her mom as a wife I commend them with everything. Her whole family to be successful and everything is amazing.
I love this ENTIRE interview, I love how she speaks about her father and husband. She is blessed with a good man/support system. I always thought she was beautiful, intellectual, successful, etc but she isn't perfect either she has her own issues and isn't afraid to speak about it and I admire that. 🖤🖤🖤
I adore her!! Ain't nothing like an open, honest, intelligent person... That don't mean you have to tell it all but to be bold enough not to let fear of judgment dictate what, when, how, where, and who you share reflections of your life experiences with mental/behavioral illnesses with is remarkably beautiful and considerably brave to me!! Especially for a person that personally lives with the demanding complexities of anxiety and depression!! The fact that she's a full on judge just makes her ability to be such a free, expressive, informative person about her own personal & family experiences with mental/behavioral health even more impressive. She has a massive reach and every single time she is vocal on these topics she helps to chip away at ignorance and stigma that surrounds mental/behavioral health. Such a beautiful woman inside and out. I know I'm late, but awesome interview. 💚💚💚
I am so glad I watched this. I LOOOVVE HER AS A JUDGE and her show is so entertaining. Her intelligence is extraordinary. Now, after watching this, I can honestly say that she is only of the most authentic people that I've ever seen and the advice that she gives are pure gems!
Very Much So!!! And Most Certainly Do Not Have "Any Time" For...FOOLISHNESS!!! I Love Watching Her Show!!!! AND SHE IS DEFINITELY A Q-T-PIE!!! 😍 ❤️ #VeryBeautifulToo...
Judge Toler is so intriguing. I can listen to her for hours. And I’ve always loved her voice. She is so funny, beautiful, smart, cool, and down to earth. Perfect advocate for mental health issues in the AA Community.
Judge Toler is the only tv judge I really like. I can watch Judge Judy. But I can't stand the rest of the tv judges. Judge Toler acts and sounds like an accomplished woman with a superb education and lots of "people or common" sense. It's great to listen to a person who has interesting things to say and can say them so well! Judge Toler, you're The Woman/Lady!
I respect my sista Lynn even more cause she real and honest about her life, I thank her for that. My mother, sister and brother are and were mentally ill. You learn to have compassion and unconditionally love. Thank you Lynn.
Dealing with anxiety and depression is hard, but when the person that tells you he loves you…refuses to understand when your mind is out of control with worry…and rather get anger at you instead. Heart wrenching!
I admire how open she is, keeping it real, humble despite all the success and fame. It's not easy to admit to all this. When we see her, we would never guess she gets depressed and anxious. Looks can deceive when people put the mask on. But she has overcome it and now she speaks about it. I love her. Beautiful inside out🙂💗
Absolutely. When it was over, I kept saying to myself "wow, that's a real person". She's amazing. I'm honored to have heard all of what she spoke about and how she spoke about it.
Judge Toler is so inspiring! Awesome interview about topics that our African American community often taboos. Judge Toler teachs us that we can rise above adversity and learn to manage issues without excuses, and be successful! I have watched her for years and she is ALWAYS inspiring, brilliant and entertaining! A rare mix these days!
She had to work at it. Had to read, talk to people who are, call for help, and examine herself to discover if she even wanted to be. She also had to find "her way" of getting there. The paths are many, and they can be slow, scary, discouraging, lonely, and even painful, which might explain why so many haven't. It can be fun too, if you find something that motivates you enough. For some it's sports, for others it's art, for her it was practicing law.
Believe me Renita, you can be all you wish to be and much more. Because you have all it takes to become it. You were created with greatness in you, now go ahead, manifest it and live it out!
Thank you for having Lynn Toler on here. Loved the interview and hearing about her issues with mental health does in fact encourage me. Interesting, a lot of brilliant people struggle with Bipolar and other mental illnesses. You can still do great things and live the life you want. Thanks again. ...and yes, we are made of vibranium.
Help us, cause I'm 29 and just discovering I'm bipolar. This shit is ruining me in relationships, friendships, with relatives, and especially at work. God bless you, you're in the right career field!
Judge Toler. This was such an amazing interview. Your honesty was certainly, appreciated. To be so open about your family, your health and your childhood, was truly inspiring; in that so many can relate and needed to actually hear a judge be so honest. We so often think people in high professions have the greatest lives. We are so proud of you!!
lol true, remember one girl that dared me to sleep after we hadn't tackle some issues. bro sweated like a goat about to be killed that night, learnt alot about communication that day too.
I am aware this is an old interview but, Judge Toler gave so much important insight to her and her family's mental health. Through all the events her mother when through with her father they stayed together as a family. Judge Toler, was blessed to have a mother who got her mental help when she was young. It is not easy to admit that things in your brain are not work normally. This one of the BEST breakfast club interview I have seen. The judge is one of the strongest woman I have ever I had the pleasure to view on you tube.
I had to come back and watch this again just cuz this woman seems amazing to me I would love to meet her they need to bring her back to divorce court though
Her mom sounds like a bad ass, logical, strong woman. She loved her husband enough to rearrange her life.Love when Judge talks about her parents and husband
My all time favorite Breakfast Club interviews: Judge Lynn Toler & Jennifer Lewis. Both were very entertaining, real & authentic & replete with much wisdom & inspiration.
"Black don't crack" my God what a beautiful intelligent well spoken sister. It's so true if you come from good stock you have a better chance of being a success.
I absolutely love you Judge Lynn Toler. You’re such an amazing woman. Full of wisdom and courageously transparent. I may never get to meet you but I feel so close to you … May God continue to bless you and those around you!
Omg, thank you Breakfast Club for having Judge Toler on, this was one of the best interviews you’ve had, shedding a light on mental illness and removing the stigma, especially in the black community, it’s not just the homeless guy on the corner, regular working people need help, too!
Wow Judge Toler really shed a lot of light on my ex husband's crazy anxiety and his depression. Man I cant believe Judge Lyne Toler went through all of that. And she nailed that discription of mental illness. Because I lived through all of this with my ex, but I was to busy raising my autistic son that I could not figure my ex out that he was on the down low and full of anxiety and depression and he reaked havock in the entire families life.
