Finally a judge that rebutted the stupid vodka in the cooking sauce excuse.

AA isn't going to do her a bit of good if she's not willing to own up to her alcoholism.

I sobered up at 26. I am now almost 70, It does work if you work it. I had to get down so low my belly was on the ground. Had enough at 26 went to treatment then went to two or 3 meeting A DAY.. just to stay sober. You have to want to stay sober more than you want to drink or us drugs. A drug is a drug and alcohol is a drug.

I think we all need to applaud her attorney for containing her laughter at 2:26. Only an extreme passion for practicing law would allow a person not to burst out laughing when a grown ass woman stands in front of other adults and claims that the alcohol in her system is the result of eating pasta. Keep in mind that she's also being paid next to nothing also.

When i knew i had a problem with alcohol, became a a t-totaler. No beer, wine, liquor... I wouldn't use cooking wine No listerine No robutussin No vodka wine sauce No bread pudding with bourbon glaze... No ODouls None of it. And at the grocery store, i avoided the liquor aisle. I went down the dog food aisle (i don't have pets)! Sounds extreme, but why? It wasn't worth the risk.... it's been 24 years. And I'm delivered! But even today, i wouldn't taste a drop off alcohol. It ain't worth it!

As a Friend of Bill since May of 1995 I can tell this judge is spot on with her assessment of this defendant. There are AA meetings in some jails.

Other judges in Georgia are tougher on DUI's? That tells me something. Letting these selfish drunks continue with their behaviors is insane.

Me and my kids eat vodka sauce pasta all the time 😂 my kids love it wow I'm a bad parent for getting my kids "pasta-drunk" 😂😂😂 1st rule to recovery is ADMITTING u have a problem!! I know bc I've been there ❤❤

The whole thing is heartbreaking. I was an alcoholic from age 14-16. I got my life together when I got away from older people who bought it for me. I’ve been clean now 23 years. It’s hard but she can do it

So sad this young lady is an alcoholic at such a young age . I hope she seeks help before she damages her body.

She's deep in her addiction and isn't ready to face her disease. I hope she wakes up soon and gets help... Inpatient treatment will only help her for awhile if she's not ready to do the hard work to change... She will be back unfortunately...

Judge Boyd requires 90 sober meetings in 90 days, and that makes more sense to me than once per week. But that’s the model Boyd learned and it’s possibly not in Georgia. I know it’s not in Wisconsin.

why can't these lawyers sat a complete sentence without saying um several times. So many of them do it and it is so annoying.

Vodka has very little if any flavour so why would anyone cook with it?! 🤔 Drinking is fine; I drink wine every few weeks and I have done for decades. However, doing stupid things whilst under the influence such as violence, driving, offensiveness etc is wrong and shows immaturity.

That bit about revenge and two graves is mostly true. It CAN come back to you. But sometimes this is acceptable. Sometimes you take ‘revenge’ to deter someone from hurting you again. And sometimes you’ve been hurt so badly, you’re willing to hurt more to balance the scales.

This judge should have handled the Suboxon mom case. That said she test negative because she has been taking suboxon so long that her body is use to it so it doesn’t show up in her hair follicles or UA ! She would have stopped the hearing and said she is up to something.

What the judge said isn't entirely true. 100% of the alcohol isn't absolved entirely during the cooking process no matter the heat it was cooked at. However she would have to consume an amount that is unattainable for any human being to eat and digest for there to be metabolites still in her urine.

Not every alcoholic is dealing with grief, a lot of people just have addictive personalities. Plus, recommending church groups? If a judge showed up so disinterested like this, i would lose my mind and any respect for the county and where tax dollars are going.

The judge needs to check the science on the "alcohol burns off when you cook it" notion. Alcohol *decreases* by way of evaporation when it is cooked, but it can take three hours of cooking to remove it completely. (By the way, I don't believe the excuse given. I'm just pointing out that the judge is in fact incorrect ... as so many judges are when it comes to science.)
